Called off for a 1 night stay and a spa day. Welcoming staff. Great food and wine. Older surroundings but nice. Rooms warm
Conservatory cosy to sit in and enjoy some wine or a coffee. Christmas time at the moment and it’s all decked out. Very welcoming. Sure to come again

Spent 2 nights here in February, superb food, catered for vegetarians in both restaurants. You must visit the Spa, staff and facilities superb, pampered all the time we were here. Upper floor garden room overlooked the gardens and we could see the Castle and town in the distance.

This review is a ‘Moment in Time’ and others will of their own experience.

We stayed from November 14th 2018, that is Monday to Thursday.

All breakfasts were very nice. Staff in morning were wonderful.

Day time went on lovely walks in the area.

Good location for car drivers

After experiencing a lovely afternoon tea, we saw the Christmas package deal for today. After looking forward to this since we booked it for 3 of us, set off for the 1 1/2 hour journey only to get to Keswick and be advised that there had been a bad accident and the road was blocked and would need to detour via Carlisle to get there. Knowing we wouldn’t get there in sufficient time we phone the Appleby Manor to explain our situation and see if we could rearrange only to be told to read the cancellation policy and they could have sold these places 10 times over!! Needless to say we couldn’t make our appointment and the staff where very rude and showed no sympathy. We didn’t want to cancel, due to the situation we looked to rearrange! I will definitely not be booking anything at this place and would not recommend to anyone. After telling us to use the detour and get there at 7, we would still be expected to vacate at 9!!! Shame on you.
I am so sorry to here of your experience & disappointment, I only live 20mins away & have other routes to get there. My visit there was a Spa Day Treat. I found the Staff Very Helpful including the Owner who came to see us Personally when we were having Our Lunch.
