The hotel is situated on the A39 main road about 7 miles from Bideford. A large car park is at the rear which cant really be seen from the road. The hotel is a bit of a maze and quite quirky as one would expect from an olde village Inn. But its clean and warm and cosy and great value....

This delightful pub has plenty of parking at the rear. We only used the bar area but it appeared to have a separate restaurant too. We used the bar because we had our dog with us, who couldn't have been more welcome. The staff were lovely and more than happy to play with the dog. We were a small party...

This was the third time I had visited the pub/restaurant in recent months and each time the food has been fantastic. I don't often leave reviews but the quality of the food plus the atmosphere and level of service really does deserve to be acknowledged. Well done Hoops Inn, keep up the good work.

A few years ago this lovely old pub was struggling but we have just called in on the off chance of getting lunch and found it excellent. The beautiful decor remain the same but the food and service are now top class. We had roast loin of pork and the generous portions were cooked to perfection. Matched to a service...

My wife and I and my step-son and partner stayed for the weekend of the 26th Nov. The whole weekend was a sheer delight. Its everyone's idea of an old world country pub. Its 13th century , old beams and open fires, steeped in history. The rooms however are old style but superbly modernised. The restaurant was as good as...

Just popping down to Devon and needed an overnight stop - proved to be a good choice. Cost effective and great food at the same time. An old world thatched inn with large car park at the back, although up a steep incline so beware if you would struggle walking up this to and from your car. Very friendly and...

Ok stayed as we are relocating to the area and needed a base while we digested house purchase, schools etc..... The Hoops Inn was welcoming on arrival, plenty of off safe road parking. Our room was located over the rear of hotel which was warm cosy and quiet with everything we needed. A table was offered on arrival in the...

Driving past looking for an appealing pub the Hoops Inn looked perfect. We had not booked but being November thought this would not be a problem...how wrong we were! The publican however was very welcoming and although the main part of the pub was fully booked he found us a table in a cosy room at the back with just...

Just returned from 3 perfect nights at the Hoops. Stayed in the basic room which was warm, comfy and smartly decorated, lovely hot shower, no noise from the road. Short walk upstairs from the main pub which is made up of cosy booths and smaller rooms, very traditional with open fires and stone walls. The food, staff and service were...
