Been coming here since moving to the area about a year ago. Used to regularly eat here. don't know if they have changed a chef. But food quality has gone way down hill. Still quite a nice place for a quiet pint. (Gets busy at weekends) but will be giving the food a miss

I stayed here recently on a business trip. My room was comfortable and the bathroom had recently been refitted to a very good standard. The evening meal was delicious and well priced - had the hunters chicken following a recommendation by a member of staff. Slept well in room 105 and the breakfast the next day was amazing. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Everyone was so kind and helpful, it really helped us enjoy my sons wedding at Clearwell Castle and my daughters birthday. We had a large get together on saturday evening in the restaurant, food was good and service fantastic. Rooms have lots of character, are very comfy and very clean. Some of the four poster rooms...

We stayed for a nearby wedding- a perfect location for Caldwell Castle ♡ The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. There is no parking on site but a carpark is situated near the tourist information centre- less than a 2 minute walk away. The breakfast was wonderful. I heard a woman ask for museli and as they didn't have any-...

Passing through Coleford exploring the area, the wife & I stopped off at the Angel Hotel for an afternoon coffee. Walked into the main bar and you could instantly tell it was mainly a locals place, no issues, just a few odd looks from the locals. The bar man took our order and invited us to take a seat, so...

We were attending a wedding at the castle and decided to stay at the angel as was quite close to venue and very reasonably priced. When we checked in we inquired about taxis and receptionist asked what times we would like and went on and ordered them for us. The room was clean spacious and warm. The bar was friendly...

Firstly I do not normally leave Tripadvisor reviews however felt other visitors need to be aware. We are tourists to this area on holiday are from the East. The town Coleford seemed to be nearest Market town for the Forest of Dean camp sites and as tourists the Angel Hotel seemed to look the largest venue in the town so...

We have visited The Angel hotel many times, for both breakfast and lunch. We have always had a really warm and friendly greeting. The food has always been superb. The breakfast is highly recommended, we've never left feeling disappointed or hungry. Their lunch menu does lack steak but does make up with its other choices, especially the local faggets. Highly...
