We spent 4 glorious days in the beautiful Cornwall town of Fowey at this great hotel. From the courteous phone call before we arrived (to check if we needed any special requirements and reserve our coveted pace in the car park) to the warm welcome – the staff at The Fowey Hotel really are pretty wonderful. Nothing is too much...

I would like to say that after a shaky start the hotel staff particularly Lindsey, Stacey and Jason really excelled themselves and were extremely professional in ensuring that the rest of our stay was everything that we had hoped it would be. It is due to them that I give 5 stars. They were outstanding. It was our first ever...

On a weekend break to Fowey with four friends, we decided to pop in to The Fowey Hotel for gin o'clock. And what a fantastic array of gins are available - 51 in all. We sat on the balcony overlooking a fabulous view of the estuary and tried local gin infused with saffron, gin with a hint of coconut, and...

I observed an elderly lady ask the breakfast waiter where the marmalade was (it had run out) but instead of offering (or rather telling her he would...

Rm 305 17-18 March. A lovely hotel in a great place with awesome views. Nothing that unique there I suppose but, where this place differs is the quality of the guest experience. Superbly friendly and attentive team and outstanding food. Sumptuous breakfasts and gorgeous dinners. Add to that a gin bar and terrace with a massive variety of drinks on...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Made famous by the celebrated authoress, Daphne du Maurier, and ranked as one of the UK’s most desirable locations, the pretty Cornish town of Fowey, is a delight to explore. Clusters of characterful buildings, cottages and shops tumble down the hillside to rub shoulders with those stacked along the curving main street, which runs parallel to the Fowey estuary. The Fowey Hotel, with its wonderful views over the town, estuary and the sea is the perfect place from which to explore it all! There's plenty to do and see too. Shopping is fun, with a variety of independent specialist shops, galleries and delicatessens - with not a high street name in sight! The town is a most pleasant walk from end to end; to be taken at a reasonable dawdle, in order not to miss a bit as there are some wonderful surprises just round every corner. From here you can venture east or west along the South West coast path and walk for miles or drive no more than a short distance, to visit the numerous sights and attractions situated in this lush, verdant area of Cornwall. The Fowey Hotel is part of Richardson Hotels of Distinction. ... more   less
