Spent 3 nights at the Cumbria Grand in the Beatrix Potter suite. Was perfect as I don't travel light in my line of work and it had the separate bedroom for all our cases, perfect. Carvery was great and tried the a la carte as well, would defo recommend 😁. Staff were really helpful and could not do enough for...

We have stayed at the Cumbria Grand five or six times in the past but we haven't been for about five years as the last twice we were there the food wasn't very good but we thought we would give it another go because we like the area. The food has improved a bit and we had a nice big...

It wasn't a bad (depends what you call bad) hotel by but not the nicest or friendliest either staff spoke to us at the bar and reception but felt like it was only because they had to. the price we paid was not what we would have paid if we had seen it before hand. we booked as it looked...

Bought a groupon for a 3 course dinner and bed & breakfast which was £75 and was such a great deal! The hotel was lovely....our room had a great view and it was an easy walk to the centre of Grange over Sands. Dinner was good value for what you get and the breakfast was really tasty! The staff were...

When I last wrote a review on this hotel in 2015 the New Year entertainment was dire but true to his word, the manager had this sorted for the following season and the entertainment was excellent. This year's entertainment was also excellent. The main band lined up for bringing in the new year was the same as the previous year...

We stayed 2 nights in room 117 which was a lovely spacious room with an equally lovely bathroom. We had a great sea view and free wifi. The dinner is a carvery, you are served the...

The Big Band weekend title attracted us and we were not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere, excellent staff, good food, lovely room, terrific entertainment, all in a fantastic setting. This is the third hotel in this chain that we have visited -Strathmore Hotels - and for a lovely homely stay in quite grand environments with excellent service, I would highly recommend them.

Stayed here twice in two months (2 nights in early December 2016; 1 night in late January 2017) with somewhat different results. The December visit - albeit in one of the top rooms in the hotel was near perfect - only the badly overcooked carvery dinner on the Saturday night let the visit down. The January visit (in a much...
