Stayed one night (Sunday) room nice, staff nice, hotel clean. Quiet location apart from peacock! Food not so good but plenty of choice. Value for money stay overall. Greg in the bar was very nice and nothing too much trouble for him. Victoria was nice, all the staff worked hard to make stay comfortable.

Stayed here for a weekend in April with a group of 12 family members. The hotel is very grand but very dated and traditional. But it is clean, tidy and welcoming. The reception staff need to learn to smile and be pleasant to customers as they were a little 'stiff'. We had a sea view room which was spacious and...

We recently had a four night stay at this hotel and were well satisfied with the experience. Situated on the edge of Grange Over Sands in its own woodland area it provides a good base for exploring the lakes. The check in was quick and trouble free and our bedroom was quite spacious and gave great views across Morecambe Bay....

This little altered late Victorian pile retains a certain period charm in a wooded setting complete with peacocks. It is however largely used by lake district bus tours and sharing their facilities as an individual traveller paying nearly £100 a night one feels exploited. At half the price the poor quality on offer might have seemed acceptable. The hotel has...

Thanks for posting a review on your recent stay at the hotel and sorry to hear that all aspects were very disappointing. The hotel caters for guests of all ages, all parts of the world and although tours are a regular part of our business midweek, we have private bookings in greater numbers. We certainly do not discriminate on age...

We have just returned after a three nights stay at the Cumbria Grand and enjoyed every minute of it. Our room was a good size , comfortable double bed, two easy chairs, large wardrobe and plenty of drawer space , large window with views of Morcambe bay , large bathroom, and of course the flat screen tv which was hardly...

I booked the Cumbria Grand hotel as a kids free night away for our 5th Wedding Anniversary , we weren't disappointed at all throughout the whole stay , we drove up the driveway and the hotel looked huge , with a lovely garden area and a woodland walk , we were allowed to check in early. The room had been...

Great location and a beautiful old hotel with wonderful views over the bay. There are two resident peacocks Eric and Ernie which welcomed us at the door with a wonderful display of their feathers on full display. The hotel is dated interior wise and noise does travel through the floors as we were disturbed by the people above. The room...

Hotel very tired, food was awfull, told a selection of sandwiches which consisted of cheese, cheese and ham and cheese and pickle on stale bread. Desserts all seemed to be bought in, we didn't even try the scones!!!!! went to celebrate a special birthday and would never go again.

If you want a boutique hotel this is not the place for you. If you want to be greeted at the hotel entrance by a beautiful Peacock who will gladly displace his plumage, then this is the place for you. It's an imposing building that dates back to 1880, the floor boards creak, there are still some of,the original features...
