We arrived here for two nights and on arrival yes the outside of the hotel Is somewhat impressive and inviting. The hotel has a air of mystery about it and that's it.. The staff try to be nice however the majority are elderly and could not keep up with the service demand. On day one we ordered ham sandwiches which...

I'd visited before but never stayed. I wasn't disappointed. Wonderful old place. My wife and I, along with our small terrier, visited this March weekend. We were blessed with blue skies and great weather but the hotel ambience and staff made our visit all the warmer. The public rooms are comfy and relaxing. The owner and his team have cracked...

Stayed here 2 nights in early March. On arrival the façade and grounds provided a good first impression. Check in was easy and we were placed in Room 8 the Honeymoon Suite, which was a lovely spacious refurbished room on the first floor, overlooking the Bay. Everything was clean and tidy, a nice big telly, and a very acceptable bathroom...

We first discovered Netherwood several years ago when attending the annual Michelle Jurd Charity Ball. From the moment we saw Netherwood on the hill and stepping into the generous hall and reception we felt welcome by Mike and his team. Returning every year since for spring breaks too. Christmas time is very special with unique decorations that kick start the...

Very good hotel with character. Worth paying extra for view over the bay. Food excellent but menu very similar for the nights we stayed. Loved the open fires. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value for rmoney if you go on a mid week break where you get a free night.

Stayed for a 3 night wedding anniversary break and were allocated a double room with great views. En-suite was a little dated especially the shower but did the job. Food was fantastic, good portions and presentation on plate great. Staff were very helpful & friendly and the whole experience of staying in such a historic hotel excellent. Unfortunately never got...

Nothing was...

Was treated to a lovely meal here at the end of a week long stay in Grange-over-Sands. We were the only two in the restaurant that night and as a consequence the service was excellent! The place was clean and very well presented (though they did have their Christmas decorations up and it was early November!!!). The staff were very...

Our party of 5 had a truly memorable time in this wonderful hotel, the management of which is superb with every single member of staff a complete credit to them. We arrived on New Year's Eve to stay for one night and attend the New Year's Eve Gala Dinner & Dance and stay until after the New Year's Day Brunch....

Just spent three days at Netherwood Hotel in Grange over Sands for a friend's birthday celebration. Big comfortable warm rooms, friendly welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Bar snacks or four course meal in evening. Some guests had afternoon tea which looked really appetising. Easy to reach from M6 and good centre for exploring South Lakes.
