We went over the Christmas period. This hotel is very well looked after. All communal areas are gleaming clean with well maintained paintwork. The staff are very friendly but professional. The pool area although the room temperature was quite cold the pool itself and jacuzzi was toastie warm. I’d highly recommend this hotel to use as a base to explore the lakes. I felt it was value for money and will return
The Grange Hotel was recommended by friends, we could only stay one night (wish we could stay more). Our room was immaculate- we felt every effort had been made for us to feel very safe. and all the staff we met were very helpful so friendly. We remember Christian in the bar, Greg in the restaurant and a gentleman called Chris ( I think he was the Manager) They made us feel so welcome. Our dinner was amazing. I had Terrine and my wife had fish cakes both delicious, for mains I had Lamb and wife had steak again both delicious and melted in your mouth. Desserts were also a hit. Our room was spacious and very clean, two baths was a great surprise for us. Before we left we had a delicious freshly cooked breakfast, again the young ladies who's serving were very friendly and chatty. Overall it was a lovely experience. When all this covid is finished and gone away, we will definitely book for a week. Thank you Chris and all your lovely friendly staff Keep doing what you doing BEST. See you soon. F&S x…
We booked the three day Christmas package for our family of 10, the hotel is beautifully old fashioned with loads of character, our bedroom had a beautiful comfortable four poster bed with the bathtub as a feature in the room. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly upgrading our room for the entire stay at no extra cost, the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room was lovely my 2 year old granddaughter used the pool constantly. We would definitely book the Christmas package again it’s great price and although some of the activities had to be cancelled due to COVID it was still very festive. The restaurants Christmas menu was amazing very high quality. A special thank you to Chris the manager a lovely friendly guy very approachable. Natalia receptionist Gladys the head chef And all the other staff for making this a very memorable Christmas. …
I’m surprised this place had so many good reviews. Hotel and especially rooms were extremely outdated. Bathroom very old. Our room had no windows and was extremely hot and stuffy. Restaurant was the highest disappointment. Overpriced and basic menu. My partner and I had the tasting menu and for dessert were served a cheese selection that was straight from tesco... absolutely embarrassing for a ‘fine dining’ restaurant to serve. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
We loved our stay at the Grange Hotel. The food was good, the staff were great (special shout out to the night porter Paul who was especially friendly) and the best part for us was having access to the pool! The location was also great, easy access to windermere by car. The only thing for us was our room didn't have a window which made it extremely hot, even in the middle of winter, but it's a small price to pay for such an excellent hotel at such a brilliant price!
