This is a perfectly acceptable low budget B&B. Very comfortable room, terrific breakfast, lovely staff, and the restaurant area is very nicely decorated. The rest of the property is a bit tired. Could use a lick of paint here and there, and new stair carpets. But as long as you're realistic about these things, and don't expect too much, it's...

This is a well organised and comfortable hotel. The staff make every effort to make guests welcome. There is a good bar and the restaurant is excellent with an interesting and varied menu. The breakfasts were very good and very efficiently produced and served considering we were quite a large party of eleven.

A hotel in general need of improvement and investment, it's shabby and worn out. Our room was superficially clean but there was a stain on the bed-cover, stains on the dressing table stool, and the remains of a dead insect by the door latch; obviously the cleaner missed that one. The shower was too hot to stand under even though...

Called last minute and we're fitted in straight away, fabulous friendly service that's warm and welcoming. Was such a relaxed atmosphere and the food was top quality! The best food around by far! Very happy!

We booked a week break, the front door and entrance area are in need of refurbishment which is not a good start, the owners are slowly renovating the rooms. Our first room had a lovely new bathroom although one of the twin beds was terrible. When we got only cold water at night and then boiling water in the morning...

We stayed in this quaint hotel, after being let down by another place, we arrived on the off chance of a room that night, and were immediately greeted by the owners. We were shown 2 rooms and given the option of which we preferred. A beautiful view of the river and town from the room. Bar with amazing roaring fire,...

On a journey back from South West we took the back road and stopped off in Ross on Wye. A very good place to stop and visit. The Castle Lodge was a very quiet and very comfortable place to stay. The rooms were very nice and would not hesitate to stay again whilst ttravelling that part of the counttry.

Has our work christmas party, was expecting usual not too brilliant food we usually have on party nights, but very pleasantly surprised, love homemade tomato and basil soup, nice and hot with crusty bread, the turkey was beautiful and tender, great roasters and veg, friends who had the vegetarian option said it was really nice. Have to say the best...

We needed a good value Sat night stop over near Ross on Wye and this place certainly provided it. It's a little care worn looking on arrival but a lovely very adequate room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Quite quirky decoration but we enjoyed the character of the place. Having failed to book anywhere to dine locally...
