We stayed here in December 2020 in between Christmas and New Year. We were shown to our room which was lovely, a large bathroom with another room off the bathroom with hanging space, fridge and ironing board. The room was well equipped plenty for our stay, with a very comfortable bed. We had breakfast in the Annex , we chose the tapas inspired take on an English breakfast with coffee and orange juice. Which was very nice. We would definately recommend a stay here. Its in a good location for exploring Tavistock. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming throught out our stay.
I stayed in Rockmount back in April 2020 with group of colleagues. The accommodation is very spacious and decorated to very high quality standards. I really loved the large shower, the comfortable bed and the soft cotton towels after a long day's meeting. The setting of Rockmount provides comfort and privacy, it's perfect for business visits but if you are looking for a great holiday stay you will not be disappointed as the views are stunning. It's located in quieter end of Tavistock within a short walking distance to beautiful market town facilities, pubs and restaurants so it was a winner for us. The rooms are well equipped and spotlessly clean. We loved Tony's full English the following morning as there was plenty to choose from even for those fussy ones. Overall fantastic, very comfortable stay in a great location. Highly recommended.…
We stayed at the Rockmount for two nights and loved it. The room was small, we knew that when we booked. The room was well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfy stay. We had breakfast in the new Annex restaurant, the food was really tasty and the service great. Definitely on the list for a return visit if we are in Tavistock again.
We checked in late as we came of the Scillonian from the Scilly Isles. We were greeted by Tony & Pip who were so welcoming. We had a glass of wine in the new restaurant which is stunning! It’s beautifully decorated and well socially distanced (in these strange times). We were shown to Room 6 which was a clever use of space. The smart TV with Netflix and the Nespresso machine are a great touch amongst the artwork and gilt framed big mirrors. The breakfasts are delicious and would have loved to try the Tapas in the evening (it’s was there 4th night and were sold out. Thanks for the recommendation of a local restaurant. Well done chaps, we will be back.
This time we stayed in the Garden Room and loved it’s cosy feel with all the amenities we needed. It is secluded and away from the house so we were not disturbed at all as we had a ‘room only rate’ so not even by cleaners! Having said that, any issues we had were immediately sorted by Tony with a smile. He really is the best and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived until we left with a take away coffee in our hands! We enjoyed exploring g the area each day, going to Plymouth, Lifton and lots of places on Dartmoor. What did Rockmount do during lockdown with no guests? They built a restaurant!!! Yes, The Annexe restaurant was built by Tony and his partner while the rest of the world was sitting around and zooming!! It is fab-u-lous and the plan is for it to be open on Friday and Saturday evenings for tapas, locals and guests welcome, also maybe an occasional supper club in the week. Already they have bookings so The Annexe promises to be quite an exclusive little place for a date nite perhaps? It certainly is classy, offering a few different outside seating areas to enjoy. If you are thinking of staying here- look no further- you will be in good hands! If you need anything, all you need to do is ask! See you soon guys! …
