Chatsworth Hotel are possibly charging too little for their rooms as they plainly don't have the resources to do essentials. However not sure where the reviewer has been living who complained about breakfast being inadequate and lounge and bar being closed. Cooked breakfast perfectly acceptable - unless you are greedy and aren't happy unless your plate is overflowing and you leave the table feeling stuffed. Two sausages (although I was only given one!), slice of bacon, half a tomato, an egg and baked beans, with plenty of toast and spreads on the side. What on earth is wrong with that. Niggles: windows in our room had been left open to air, but as our coach didn't get to Worthing till 11.00pm it was very cold in the room. Twin beds had no space between them, mattress very, very, very soft. Worse however was the fact that a broken table had been left in the room- top not attached to base and when placed some things on, the top up-ended. Luckily hadn't put a hot drink on there. Also, shower tap so stiff we couldn't turn it off. No phone in room (to lessen Covid contact apparently), so by the time we got down to Reception to report, the room was filled with steam. We were then told that we weren't the first to report this problem. So why wasn't it fixed. I got scalded trying to turn the thing off and gave up before I injured myself. No sanitiser outside or inside lifts - pretty basic at the moment I would have thought. Positives: pleasant staff, good breakfast, very convenient location.…
Lounge not available to sit and relax tv No Bar tv bedroom no itv carpets need wash toilet broken in room ceiling light in bathroom hanging ròom door lock unable to work no bedroom service Breakfast poor mfi lift door very bad for big hotel it did not look after guest at told. Agreat lack of effect and care for visitors It like living on the motorway with traffic noise.
My aunt and I stayed here when we went to see my sister who lives in Worthing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel, although in dire need of a lot of tender loving care, was very clean and Covid compliant. The breakfast was excellent and served on hot plates which is a real rarity these days. The only moan I’d have is that the mattress on the bed in my room (128) had very definitely seen better days, likewise the pillows. However, this would not stop me staying here again. Far nicer than your faceless ‘chain’ hotels. Thank you for a pleasant stay. I’ll be back!
Very poor service rooms not made up each day.. Asked for more tea and biscuits and towels changed ..nothing done As you would expect from a standard hotel service. Would not recommend this a place to stay...
We booked the Chatsworth as we wanted a quite break in Worthing after months of lockdown, and needed a break from London and work. Was happy with the covid restrictions in place. Room appeared as we expected, although the mattress was the the softest and we were bounced off if one of us moved, never slept on a trampoline before! Had a seafront room which made our stay all the more pleasant. Breakfast was basic. All the staff nice and helpful. Would we stay here again? We've seen Worthing, so probably not.
