Finally got some time to write this very well deserved review! I attended a Festive Mystery Tour via A&P Travel back November, and as part of the tour, I spent some time at the Mercure Whately Hotel. Arrival was swift with no problems, and the restaurant experience was excellent. The food was deliciously but I have to specifically point out...

Went along for a works Christmas Party - although the decor of the 'function' room we were directed to looked more like a wedding reception . Found ourselves sharing the venue with another group and it was evident that there were several venues around the hotel going on at the same time . The food was very average , and...

Dear Frank S, Thank you reviewing a recent party that you attended here. I am sorry that you did not think the room looked festive decked out in white to match our White Christmas party theme. I understand that maybe the organiser of your party did not inform you that there would be other companies in the room or indeed...

Staff at the hotel are great really polite and accommodating. Down side of this hotel is the noise. Friday and Saturday nights there were parties on weddings and Christmas. We were in the 1970s style add on to the hotel which is directly above one of the function rooms not great when you're tired and want to rest after a...

Every year I stay at this hotel, attending a local event. Every year I enjoy my stay. The rooms are still comfortable but are getting rather “tired” but the breakfast is excellent. I stayed on the third floor of the “new” wing. That of itself is practically a breach of the Trade Descriptions Act! The wing is is deserate need...

I came to this hotel with my sister and her partner for a family friend's wedding. We chose the hotel because it was offered as a suggestion by the Bride & Groom but also for proximity to the church. Overall it was ok; the room was clean. It was a bit small but it suited the needs for a two...

Small shabby room at the 70's extension at the back of the hotel. Rooms were not overly clean. Suspicious looking stains on the arm chair and other people's hair on the mattress protector. Glad we had only booked for one night. Would not recommend.
