My wife and I stayed here for one night. We ate with Poppy and Paul a delicious dinner with good wine and great conversation. Poppy is a wonderful and engaging host. WQe had tea and cake upon arrival (lemon drizzle, my wife's favourite) and we enjoyed a delicious chicken and tarragon dinner washed down with a super Italian wine. Our...

Very easy to find. Welcome of tea & cake on arrival. Stunning views over the garden and fields. Peaceful and rural. Located close to many National Trust properties and lots of beautiful villages if you just want to drive around. Breakfast and dinner excellent, especially homemade preserves. A couple of pubs in local villages do food. Lots of information available...

We had a superb stay for two days at Uplands House with Poppy. The bed was luxurious and the breakfast delicious. We highly recommend this lovely home in the Cotswolds. We hope to return to the beautiful house and gardens. There is so much to see in this tranquil area of England.

What a wonderful, welcoming place to stay. Fabulous home cooking, crisp fresh sheets and a beautiful house in a peaceful country setting. We came in late from London and Poppy, our hostess, was kind enough to cook a delicious fresh supper for us. Nothing was too much trouble and the veg fresh from her garden was especially good. Stay here...

I say home from home in the title as that is the welcome you get at Poppy's; you are very much welcomed as a friend and it is very much a home. But what a home! So luxurious and with so many wonderful and beautiful things collected over a lifeltime. The hospitality is second to none, the food is great...

This luxury accommodation has it all! The impressive house is filled with old family furniture and mementoes which catch your eye wherever you look. The garden in Spring is filled with colourful and interesting plantings and the kitchen garden a source of home grown food. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, both of whom have interesting pasts in...

My wife and I chose Uplands House from Sawday’s guide along with another house not far away for a four day weekend in the Cotswolds. Why two houses less than 20 miles apart? Simple. Part of the ‘country house’ experience is the character of your hosts. We have stayed at many over the years and only one owner was completely...

I recently spent one night at Uplands while in the area for horsey stuff. Poppy was more than accommodating, helping find somewhere to park my horse lorry and was very welcoming when I got to the house. While I was only at the property for maybe 14 hours in total, the room was lovely (four poster) and I enjoyed the...
