The hotel is dated and there are obviously problems with the building. However our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower room wasn't huge, but the shower was good and there was soap, shampoo and shower gel. The room also had an alarm clock, hairdryer and TV. We were able to make cups of tea...

The whole hotel needs a make over and at the very least a really good clean It doesn't offer food at all although we would not have eaten there This hotel has a fantastic location and has obviously been a fine hotel many moons ago and could be so much better We walked in through the bar instead of the...

yes the hotel is dated and needs updating but it's no surprise for the price so I was expecting it. central location and onsite parking is a plus. Room was clean and ok but didn't rate the bar at all.

When booking It was a cheap and cheerful night away but when arrived realised I wouldn't have paid £30. Gorgeous old building but that's were it stopped. Need a lick of paint on the front. I Walked in and the smell of fusty, old and dust hit me and never left Til I checked out. Hasn't had carpets or any...

From the moment of entering this so called hotel I wanted to go home , shabby ,smelly and very unwelcoming. Manager very unprofessional. The room was very depressing with the walls covered in jack Nicholas photos !!! Unreal . Hole in duvet cover, massive cracks in ceiling, worn out curtains and carpets older than god ! Dirty cups and saucers...

Right first off if your looking for a premier inn/Jury's inn clean brand new place then don't stay here. If you want a building with character and a great location then your cool. Some of the windows are beautiful - bar was great, staff were lovely - everything was clean n fresh. The film stuff knocking about was odd -...

This place is fine if you just want a bed for the night. The decor is extremely dated, and the place is covered with pictures of celebrities. Our room had scuffed/peeled wallpaper, and a couple of cobwebs, but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was okay, it had a nice big bath and a little shower. The door on the...

Stayed in the Bruce Willis room, there are photos of celebrities everywhere. The staff was friendly and meet the needs we required, our dog was welcome, and there's a nice river walk nearby he was happy to play around on. The room was huge with plenty of room to stretch out, although the TV seemed a bit puny compared. A...

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Its in a good area, walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. On arrival it was lovely and warm and just very old with lots of character which to be fair me and my husband like. However we was not prepared for a room decorated with framed posters of...

This hotel had real character, after reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. We stayed in the Harrison Ford room, bit odd but was clean and had a lovely bathroom with a slipper bath. We walked into town for tea which was around a five minute walk and again the next morning. Buxton is a beautiful place and...
