We stayed 2 nights at the Palace Hotel for a weekend break and have to say it is nowhere near a 4 star despite it's impressive external appearance, lovely setting, and great location. The room we stayed in was quite small as was the bed and the room was in need of some serious TLC. The hotel is in serious...

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the family. When we arrived the wifi was broken and the swimming pool boiler was broken so the pool was freezing and unable to use. We were very excited on first arrival by the grandure of the entrance however, our room was miles away in the back of beyond opening the door to...

I and many others booked a room at the Palace Hotel Buxton this saturday night (For My Wife's birthday) and rang four days earlier to check our reservation, to be assured the room was ours. However when we it was like something from the 70's spanish holiday theme--Lots of disappointed guests in various state of distress as "No rooms were...

This is a very pleasant hotel in Buxton. It looks like a grand hotel of the begiining.of the 20th century and it still retains much of its charme. We booked the day before arriving so we hot a special offer at 60£ per room - a real bargain. Rooms are big, clean and the bed was really comfortable. Although we...

Lovely building, great location, staff helpful. The whole hotel is in need of total refurb. Our room was on top floor it needed a good clean, only one bath towel for two guests, hot water took ages to come through, shower pressure was a trickle. Carpets taped together in hallway, floor boards missing. Not a great experience.

My elderly mother and her partner stayed here for 3 nights in early August. Both are disabled with mobility issues. When booking they stated they were disabled and we're not told of any problems. The first arose on arriving at the hotel. There were steps and my mother struggles with steps. Seeing no alternative my mother's 93 year old disabled...

From the moment I walked through the front door I was impressed with the glamour of this old Victorian Hotel. The imposing staircase and the ceiling decoration in the bar are particularly impressive. I have stayed in many of Britannia's Hotels, and without exception they were all in need of much TLC, especially in the bedrooms. However, on this occasion...
