Lovely B&B in a quiet street less than 5 mins walk from Buxton centre. Good off-street parking. Our room was large with a double bed and separate seating area. It was very clean and tea making facilities were provided including a small bottle of milk which was supplied daily to the fridge in our room. The bed was comfortable with...

I needed somewhere to stay at short notice as it was festival time in Buxton so I was lucky to find anywhere. Exceptionally clean, calm and quiet B&B in a great location. Soya milk was provided as requested and prior to my stay was asked if I wanted sweet or unsweetened. The breakfast was cooked beautifully and was a traditional...

I stayed with 2 friends for a walking weekend in the Peaks. It was everything we needed, the rooms were very comfortable and clean and the owner very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great. I'd visit again.

To get one point straight : I am an experienced traveller in the UK and abroad and have no axe to grind with the nice landlady. Great location in the centre of Buxton. Although, Iwould give it a 3 star B&B rating not a 4 star as it is claimed. A 4 star gives a much wider choice for breakfast...

There was a good welcome on arrival and fresh milk in the fridge in the room to make a cup of tea. The milk was replaced each day! The room was light and airy and comfortable. Breakfast ..... exactly as ordered. Hot, fresh and a good choice. We were not hurried and able to chat to other guests staying which...

We booked this at the last minute intending to spend a few days cycling in Derbyshire. We were greeted by the proprietor, Elizabeth, who was a perfect host. Rooms were very clean and well decorated. The guest house is located 5 minutes walk from the town centre so it is well positioned. Private car parking was provided in the driveway...

Hubby and I decided to have a few days away in the Peak District/Derbyshire dales and opted for the Lowther Guest House in Buxton. Elizabeth was quick to respond to emails and is incredibly friendly. The guest house is just a short walk away from the centre of Buxton but in a very quiet side road. Off street parking is...

Looked nice enough. Phoned to book and in fits of laughter she told me she wouldn't take my booking as she doesn't take children under 10. If that's the case, there are more respectful, professional ways of making this clear, like stating it on the website. But if you don't take children, why are you offering family rooms? All a...

I stayed here with my family for three nights. Elizabeth was incredibly friendly and we felt at home straight away. My mum doesn't eat pork and Elizabeth went around town trying to find beef sausages for her. Service at breakfast was brilliant and Elizabeth catered to our preferences. The rooms were clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds. The location...

“All the rooms seem good. One seems not to have en- suite but its own lovely large private bathroom: it is on the landing. We like the top room it has three beds and is very quiet, although we have stayed in others which are just as good.”
