We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. It was extremely good value for money, particularly compared with the place near crickhowell where we stayed the night before (which was twice the price and half as nice). The newly refurbished rooms are quite luxurious, very comfortable and clean. We ate in the bar - delicious steak and chips and...

This was a birthday present from my husband comprising all the things I like, books, antiques and good food. We ate from the set menu and I can't praise the food highly enough, really unusual flavours combined together to give your tastebuds a treat. The lamb sweetbreads were creamy and cooked perfectly and the dessert was a beautiful set caramel...

This was our fist visit to Hay and this part of the world. The Swan is located near the church and has parking. Lovely renovated 1771 coaching Inn, with sympathetic furnishings and very comfortable. Our room over looked the pretty garden and mountains beyond. Very quiet, which was just what we wanted. Very clean bathroom and wonderful comfy bed. Tea...

Don't pay any attention to the older reviews of this hotel it has had a complete refurb recently and new managemnt. We stayed for two nights and the accommodation was immaculate, huge comfy bed and excellent bathroom (we stayed in a superior double). We just spent 2 nights at The Swan Hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed, the staff were extremely attentive, the food first class as was our room. Nothing was to much trouble and the cleanliness of the Hotel second to none with sufficient parking to the rear and only a short walk into the town.

We enjoyed our stay at the recently refurbished Swan hotel. It was overall good value and the staff were lovely but unfortunately the room didn't feel completely finished, there were a few details missing like privacy blinds. Our shower never got hotter than lukewarm and the wifi was terrible. We mentioned all these things at check out and they were...

Stayed here on a whim to do a little book hunting and can't believe my luck. This is about as good as it gets for the price and wildly under-priced at the moment so don't delay before the word gets out. It was newly refurb'd and opened in February to the highest of standards. Superb rooms, great ambiance and friendly...

Came through on foot walking Offas Dyke. Perfect place to rest the feet with good food and clean new room. They might want somewhere for mud spattered walkers to dry their kit/clean their boots though most visitors are going to be a little smarter. Would definitely stay again.

We visited this Hotel for a Wedding on the 18th February. The Hotel has been totally refurbished and is magnificent. The refurbishment has been sympathetically done in keeping with the feeling of an old country house. The bedroom was huge very comfy bed and very good quality bed linen. The food was fantastic. We ate there Friday night,2 breakfasts and the...

We held our wedding at The Swan in Hay at this newly refurbished beautiful hotel in Hay-on-Wye. The help from the management was excellent, very responsive to what we wanted, helpful and reassuring. The food was very very good - we had 30 people sat down for a three course dinner and the imagination of the menu and the quality...
