Our experience here may be different to others in that we were a large group partaking in a river cruise. Added to that because we had been trapped for two days by a broken lock we arrived on a different day than originally planned. Also...More
Stunning place and huge potential but as a restaurant experience it is dire.
Very slow service and bad planning made this a long winded and drawn out miserable evening.
The food was ok.. Vegetable soup was gentle, fresh but bland. The pork was tasty and...More

The history is available on some documents posted on the web, but I cannot include links in my answer. The rooms that I saw were not good. I saw three and they all were small, with old furniture and smelling musty. Bathrooms are even worse, with old plumbing, cracked tiles, toilets that don't flush, etc... I visited in summer and air conditioning did not work. However, the building itself is worth a visit, the view is amazing and the food very good.
