If you are looking for a quite break this is the place for you.. The hotel is far from ultra modern, it is absolutely charming... Staff are very polite, breakfast was cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff.. Room was perfectly adequate, clean. Drawing room was lovely in the evening for a glass of...

I actually did like my one night stay at the Royal Glen, I got a decent night's sleep despite the single bed (I'm a rather large 6 feet plus fella). They had bourbons on the tea tray rather yucky shortbread.... point to Royal Glen. But even retirees these days have Internet enabled devices and the WiFi was achingly slow. Breakfast...

We stayed in this hotel August bank holiday weekend for our anniversary. The room was really nice and clean. The staff were lovely. The hotel sits back from the road. We couldn't see the sea from our room and I don't know if any of the rooms do. However having a drink in the garden you do have that sea...

Having stayed at the Royal Glen for three out of the last four years, we knew what to expect... and we weren't disappointed! Greeted by the same lady who greeted us on the other two occasions we visited the Glen, and she was still as friendly as ever! In fact, all the staff were amazing, AGAIN! Strauss made a new...

The Royal Glen is a quality hotel nestling in a little valley just a minute’s walk from the western end of the promenade in the lovely seaside town of Sidmouth. The picturesque Connaught Gardens are immediately right of the prom. The hotel exudes old world charm and character – lots of wood, leather and historic artefacts. As one might expect...

Thank you for making a review of the hotel and surroundings, and pointing out details which really gives more in depth information for visitors looking at reviews. I apologise for fish not being available on your morning breakfast, the kippers and smoked haddock sometimes are more popular than anticipated. May i point out to readers that we are situated just...

A lovely hotel in a quiet location and just a few yards off the sea front. Our room was comfortable and very clean, breakfast was good. It also has a small indoor pool and gym which was very nice. An enjoyable stay.

My friend and I have just spent 3 nights at The Royal Glen and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were most welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious - full English breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the music both at breakfast and during the evening meals, especially the waltzes. Our room was William and was very comfortable and...

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Sadly we only ate in the restaurant on the last night of our stay - it was excellent with a good wine list. We only wanted 2 courses and not the set 3 courses but that was not a problem. Bedroom was nice and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast...

We booked a "Standard" double room for 2 nights & unfortunately appeared to have been allocated the smallest room & bathroom, compared to two other Standard rooms which we were able to view, after our first night. We have never seen such a small shower cubical. So avoid room 22 - 23 & 27 are much better for the same...

Thank you for making a review. Your feedback did indeed come to us via reception, and was discussed how to make an improvement, but i am sorry that you felt your view point was not taken seriously. I am also sorry that you did not have the opportunity to change rooms.
