Fabulous location and lots to do. The lodge was very comfortable and has been very well maintained. Ballater golf course was most enjoyable and we keep finding new cycle tracks to explore. There are a couple of excellent restaurants nearby which are really superb with great food and very friendly service. All in all a great experience.
We visit Craigendarroch at least twice a year, and I'm delighted to say that the level of service mixed with the quality of lodges continues to get better each time. As a family, we really love Ballater, so walking into the village from Craigendarroch is always a pleasure. Great local shops, cafes and restaurants to visit, and the people are exceptionally friendly. Not to mention that the area is steeped in history, with the Queens Balmoral castle only a stone throw away. The hotel and lodges at Craigendarroch are always well maintained, with recent refurbishments making huge improvements from what was already a great resort. Each lodge has its own sauna which acts as an ideal warm-up if staying during the cold winter months. Swimming pool and gym facilities are superb, and the restaurants/bar are superb. The staff have a pleasant, professional and helpful manner, nothing is ever unachievable. Thanks to all once again, and we will be returning before the end of the year. …
Stayed for 4 nights with my wife from 12 October. Stayed in the lodges many times over the years. We love the relaxation and space that the lodges provide. This time we had a lodge all in one level - open plan living and kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom. Stunning balcony area too. Weather helped make it a great few days away. Ballater is picturesque village located on the river Dee. Make sure you plan a trip to Balmoral Castle, Burn o Vat and Loch Muick. Other local villages and towns include Braemar, Aboyne and Banchory. Craigendarroch really is a destination where you can be as active or as relaxed as you please. 5 star stay once again. Be back soon for sure.
Stayed in a 3 bedroom lodge for 3 nights. All covid sanctions were in place. Bedrooms were downstairs in this lodge with the kitchen and lounge area upstairs together with a balcony overlooking the grounds. Lovely to see the red squirrels running around. Although there are 100 lodges at Craigendarroch they are spread out over a large area and therefore you are still able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings without being disturbed. Lodge was of an excellent standard with all the kitchen utensils/crockery you would require. The pool and spa are available -pre booking is a requirement as you would expect at present. There is also a tennis court to exercise on. There is a restaurant within the hotel that served an abridged menu and there are a number of eating establishments in Ballater which is about 20 minutes walk away. Looking forward to returning at the end of October.…
A delightful place, tranquil and amazing. The property was in the woods with an amazing balcony. The facilities are excellent and we played snooker nearly every evening! The staff are great, kind and considerate. We loved the sauna in the house and the Jacuzzi bath went down very well. the house is equipped with everything that you need. The bathrooms are amazing and the showers are brilliant. Highly recommended!
