The Vine Hotel garners attention for its impeccable cleanliness, boasting pristine rooms and well-maintained grounds. Many guests appreciate the hotel's amenities, including the tasteful decor and well-appointed rooms, although there is room for improvement. While the atmosphere is often praised as comfortable, some guests find certain areas dark and unwelcoming.
Room experiences are polarized, with reports of cozy accommodations contrasting with complaints of dim and uninviting spaces. The value proposition is debated; some guests feel they receive good value, while others are left wanting more from their stay. Service quality is similarly inconsistent, with accolades for some staff members' attentiveness clashing with critiques of lackluster service.

Nicely hidden, well away from the delights of Skegness town but only a 15 minute walk into the bright lights. Very quiet, no passing traffic as the hotel is at the end of a quiet culture de sac. The building itself is quaintly historic, keeping many original features. Lots of history, well worth looking at some of the old photos near reception. Parking is plentiful and free. This hotel was a very good wedding venue overall; both the indoor and outdoor areas were well kept. The 'party food' buffet was of decent quality. Lots of meat - chicken strips, pork pie, huge sausage rolls and meat and tuna sandwiches. The only downside was the very poor selection for vegetarian guests and only chips and salad for vegan guests. We had the choice of cheese and tomato or egg sandwiches... The chips, salad and coleslaw were the only other options but these had all gone by the time our table went to the buffer. We noted, as an aside, that the hotel menu is very meat-heavy. The only main course options for non meat/fish eaters are goats cheese tart or a vegetable burger. Our bedroom was high quality, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The bathroom was a good size and had a bath and shower. Breakfast was especially good, again high quality and well presented. This is a great place to stay overall.

Stumbled across this fabulous place whilst on holiday in skegness. Literally around the corner from where we were staying. What a gem of a place. Service and food was absolutely 10 out of 10. One of the best curries I have ever had. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much we returned on the second night. Food was presented beautifully. Full of flavour and reasonably priced would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a great tasting meal in a quiet calm and comfortable atmosphere.

This hotel never fails to please. Efficient pleasant staff, excellent room with everything in the right place I.e. sockets, hooks, mirrors, heated towel rail, straightforward shower with safety mat, comfortable pillows and bed well made. I often visit in winter or early spring so room is always cosy and there is an additional portable radiator and fan. Decor is tasteful and breakfast offers great choice and value for money. I have eaten at the restaurant and wasn’t disappointed but I can equally recommend san Rufus Italian in the town. It was actually better than eating in Italy

This hotel is nicely decorated, clean and everything you need for a basic stay over in Skegness. Except you have no signal, the wifi is terrible and the tv just glitches and you can’t even watch it! Not to mention the noise!! We were in room 8 the family room and about 6am we were woken up by the sound of the people above us! It sounded like they were pacing back and forth stomping around, we even took videos. We had my elderly grandma with us who woke up panicking thinking there was someone intruding in the room! We complained to the receptionist and her response was “it’s the building you can hear a pin drop in here” Not to mention the single bed, it was caved in the middle so if you have a bad back I wouldn’t recommend either!
If you want a good nights sleep I wouldn’t recommend!!

This is a review for the restaurant only. We visit once a week whilst we are at our holiday home and have never had a problem. Just recently the last few visits have not been great. This review was for our last visit. Booked a day previous as we were a table of 8. Arrived couldn’t find the booking. Was sat on a random table only to be moved a few minutes later without any explanation. Service was terrible, very slow, unhelpful, staff bordering on rude at times. Timescale from ordering first drinks, to starters, to main course and drinks in between disgusting. We were forever chasing things and as for ordering more drinks we had to ask numerous times where staff looked uninterested in helping. Kids meals come with a fruit shoot and were charged for them. When asked for these to be removed it was welcomed at all. Starters were bought out at all different times where some had finished before others had theres. One had missing bacon from their special. The icing on the cake was when a hair was found baked into the crust of the pie. It wasn’t received very good and the only thing we were offered was that meal being taken off the bill. They were lucky that we paid the rest of the bill after the service then that. The fastest thing that came was the bill. The staff need to be trained properly and some of them need their manners and professional sorting. Such a shame bcuz there was a chap who worked there and he was amazing. Never needed to write your order down and always got it correct as well as nothing too much trouble. Bring him back. Needs sorting or customers will go elsewhere

Good Afternoon, I'm sorry you didn't have an enjoyable experience with us. Having spoken to the kitchen team i was informed a pastry brush hair had come off into the crust. Obviously this is unacceptable so we went ahead and removed this meal off your bill. All of our staff are currently being trained in every department to make sure as a team all areas can be covered and not just one person being able to do 1 area. We have currently had a new team off staff and under no circumstances should the service be slacking so i will deal with the team immediately. We hope if you visit us again we can meet your expectations, Thank you

The building apparently dates from 1770’s & the carpet in the room leading to the bar must be original as it’s in a disgusting state!
The email from The Vine after booking said no food would be available from the restaurant on the Tues we would be arriving due to working being done (if they’d stated this BEFORE booking we’d probably have gone elsewhere). Paperwork in the bedroom suggested that they don’t serve food on Mon or Tues normally.
We ordered the full English breakfast for one of the days & it arrived swimming in fat. The couple sat behind commented that there’s was the same. Disappointing for £14.95 extra each!
The TV remote was missing its back & the batteries looked like they’d been chewed by a pet. I can think of no other plausible explanation & worryingly that suggests that whatever chewed them had been bought up to the room.
I reported it downstairs in the bar & was given replacement batteries. Commenting on the state of the batteries I was told “I don’t know anything about batteries upstairs”. The sarcasm wasn’t necessary. When reported to the reception desk the following morning (not wanting to be accused over the missing back to the remote), the receptionist seemed equally disinterested.
We stayed 2 nights. Paperwork in the restaurant room said that for days of LESS THAN 2 nights the room wouldn’t be serviced (i.e. 1 night stays), but our room wasn’t cleaned on either day.
We didn’t even get asked about our stay when it came to checking out.
A disappointing experience all round.

Good Afternoon, The building does date from the 1700's & we have our carpets cleaned regularly by a company, im not sure where you would be referring too as we have two bars that are carpeted, We did have to contact all guests that were staying with us on a Monday & Tuesday evening when you stayed unfortunately. These were circumstances out of our control as we needed a repair in the kitchen that happened suddenly. This is why we had to contact guests to make them aware as it was only a few days prior that the incident occurred. We don't allow animals to stay within the hotel unless they are a service dog. Im sorry that you didnt get more of an explanation from staff. Kind Regards

Mixed feelings about this place, stayed back in May wonderful pub / Hotel, rebooked and stayed 25th Aug choose an upgraded room complete waste of money, night we stayed there was a party there our room was right above it base music going off until midnight then there some sort loud humming noise going off think we also located near the kitchen and could here the extracter. So a relaxing night away was not what we got ( only managed too get a couple of hrs sleep at most )
I understand that places have to host parties for revenue but it would of been nice before arriving to be told that on the night of the stay there is a party and may be also ask if we are part of the party so a room away from the party could be offered.
We paid £140 for the room and feel completely ripped off, Really put us off ever staying there again as staff did not seem interested when we let them know we was not happy

We arranged a Christmas day meal for 8 people for a 3pm serving and when we arrived, we were firstly informed that we would not be eating in the restaurant but took us into the function room
The serving staff and the meal was very nice, however, this came to an abrupt end when a large group of people turned up with children (which is usually fine for well-behaved children)
Unfortunately, the enjoyment of our day was ruined as the children were allowed to run around the room to the extent that one of them, even went behind the bar playing with the beer pumps and constantly running around our table
Then, to add insult to injury, one couple on this table decided to go into a full blown argument and a chair was thrown across the floor
At no time, whatsoever, was any of the staff prepared to intervene and they were left to run amok. Which then as you can appreciate, completely ruined the day to the extent that we left minutes after this incident
We feel very let down as we have never experienced this type of behaviour in any restaurant that we have been to in different parts of the country
We travelled 113 miles to spend the day with family and my 82 year old mother, was extremely distressed by all of this in case the aggression escalated
We have had no response from the restaurant to address the issues.

Very quiet, picturesque setting for a romantic getaway. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. Freshly prepared and plentiful - alterations were no problem. It was an anniversary break for us and we were treated to a bottle of wine. Bedroom (2) was roomy with a good sized window and even though the bathroom could do with modernising, it was clean and in good condition. Very close to town, pier etc. we attended a show at Embassy Theatre. Many thanks to Callum and the team for looking after us so well 🤩.
