The Premier Inn Skegness Seafront hotel is a point of contention among travelers, with its enviable beachfront location earning praise, yet its service and value receiving mixed reviews. Guests revel in the hotel's modern and spacious rooms, though some have raised concerns over room temperature and maintenance.
While the hotel's cleanliness generally meets expectations, occasional minor lapses do not go unnoticed. The dining options and comfortable beds are highlights, although the introduction of new parking fees has been a point of contention for its perceived impact on the hotel's overall value.

Detailed Reviews
We were greeted at reception we were early so the room we requested wasn't ready so not a problem. The staff kept us updated from the time we arrived to the time we were able to check in to the room. The room was very clean it perhaps needs a little tidy up as the paper in corner was slightly away from the wall also the windows all need resealing so they don't look so cleaner and let's the room down. The only other comment about the room would be that the double/ king size bed is rather high so difficult for older people to get into I'm 5ft 4 and struggled so anyone smaller would need some sort of step to get into it. We can't fault any of the staff both in Premier Inn or The Cookhouse Steamboat the Chef is excellent and the breakfast was more than adequate cooked to perfection and my husband thought the poached eggs were spot on. Thank you to all the staff who were kind and courteous to my husband who has dementia. Well done to everyone hopefully we will return again

Excellent 1 night stay while visiting family.
Leanne welcomed us and I mentioned it was my wife's birthday.
The lovely staff bought treats to our toom and left a really nice birthday message.
Room was exceptional, we had the upgraded room and it was perfect for us.
Nespresso machine, bath and overbath shower, controllable heating/aircon, Seaview, free parking until 3pm next day...
Highly recommended and a special thanks to ALL the lovely staff.
We even added the "meal deal" which was excellent value and the attached restaurant was also a very nice place to eat.
We will definitely be back

Every now and again everything clicks when you stay at a hotel: the outstandingly helpful receptionist (Nikki); the ambience; the welcoming staff in the restaurant; the value for money food and a spotless room. First trip to Skegness for 40 years to celebrate a birthday over 3 nights staying here at this great location. Grandkids and family joining us for 2 nights and there was no trouble in getting their family room accommodation moved to being near us. Probably the best Premier Inn we have stayed in here in the UK.

We have visited Skegness a number of times but this was the first time staying at the premier inn. I was looking forward to it and had higher expectations than normal considering the higher prices charged here compared to elsewhere and the fact it is always booked up. Unfortunately it was a bit lacking and I think the premier inn has got a bit complacent so the arrival of the Travelodge in the future might be a bit of a wake up call for them.
Pros:
The location is fantastic and was the main reason we chose it.
The room was large and situated at the back so very quiet.
Because we’d booked before the parking charges were brought in, we were told we wouldn’t be charged. We therefore opted for the early check in option so as to miss the massive queues at 3pm.
Cons:
I can’t understand why Premier Inn now only leave one towel for a double room… it just means the customer has to make a trip down to reception to get more.
The windows are sealed shut and the air con minimum temperature is 19 degrees so still quite warm for sleeping. There is no fan in the room.
There was no bottled water in the room and those in the vending machine were priced at £2.50 which I thought was a bit steep.
Most of the time when we went to reception, there was no one sat at the desk and we had to ring a buzzer and then stand around waiting.
While we were told our parking was not chargeable, the receptionist didn’t advise what time on our check out day we had to leave the car park. The premier inn website is a bit misleading as it says it is a cost of £9 per 24 hrs and as we arrived at 2pm, we thought we’d be ok until that same time but as we were about to go at 2, I noticed on the parking signs that the small print noted the car has to be moved by 12. We therefore ended up having to pay £9 for another night because I didn’t want to risk a £95 fine in the post. Had we been advised of this at check in, we’d have moved the car earlier.
Whilst the staff were friendly enough, it seems like the company just want to do the minimum whilst getting as much money out of their guests as possible. Unless the prices come down, I wouldn’t stay here again but will probably give the Travelodge a go!

The hotel is clean and tidy which is exactly what we wanted. Some of the staff however seemed to have a bad attitude towards guests. It is a shame because a small change in attitude would make this a good hotel but our experience was somewhat spoiled by the attitude of certain members of staff. We arrived at 2.49pm which 11 minutes before check in. It seems that there is a system in place that doesn’t allow the receptionist to book anyone in before 3pm, Which I find strange but fair enough. The thing that I didn’t like was that the lady on reception was clearly very smug about this and enjoyed the fact that we had to sit and wait. Then after being sat behind her desk very smugly at 2.58pm she disappeared! Only for 4 or 5 minutes but just enough to satisfy the weird power trip that she obviously needed. My second staff issue is with the restaurant, which isn’t a restaurant it’s a Wetherspoon type establishment attached to the hotel. We were told food was served to 8.30 however when we asked at 8pm we were told they were fully booked and would not serve us any food. There was a full half of the pub that was empty tables and when I asked about these I was told that they had been set for breakfast and we couldn’t sit there. We had to leave with our son and walk the streets to find somewhere else to eat. Thirdly, we were staying 2 nights so wanted our room cleaning with fresh towels and tea & coffee re filling. For this you have to tell reception as it looks as though the cleaners only clean the rooms that people are leaving. We asked and were told it would be done, when we got back later nothing had been done. I went to reception and got a half hearted apology from Mrs Smug who was quick to say I can give you fresh towels and tea & coffee. I think this is completely pre planned and they had no intention of cleaning our room! It’s a shame because this attitude could be easily fixed but I felt complete disdain as a paying customer. At which £400 for 2 nights is not a cheap hotel!

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of July for a couple of nights. We wanted to do the early check in but we were told it wasn't available at the time as our room hadn't been cleaned and told to come back later. When we did manage to check in it was an easy experience. The room which we had was nice and clean. We had our breakfasts in The Steamboat which were good value for money. We also had an evening meal in The Steamboat but the Vegetarian options on the menu are not very good. We have been staying at this hotel at least once a year since it opened and the car parking has allways been free as it was when we stayed this year. We were going to book another long weekend in September but we have now found out that they have introduced a carparking charge of £9.00 per 24 hours which is outrageous given the premium prices charged for the rooms per night. We will no longer be staying at this hotel and instead going on city breaks.

The hotels location is right next to Skegness Beach so ideal for those beach summer strolls. Centrally located to all amenities that a sea side town has to offer. If you have children this would be a great hotel for you to stay at.
The area itself however wasn't the greatest. As soon as you arrive and step from your vehicle you are welcomed by the smell of gange . The resort pubs are outdated and dirty with only the Jolly Fisherman and the pub attached to the Premier Inn the only two decent pubs.
The welcome and check in at the Premier Inn at Skegness was easy and quick. The staff were polite and friendly and very informative of surrounding areas.
Breakfast was exceptional as always is in Premier Inn. We couldn't sit where we wanted and shown to a table and not asked if it were OK. The Dumb Waiters where they place the dirty crockery was too close to some tables and not enjoyable when trying to have a quiet morning.
The kitchen staff comments can be heard on the dining area and when a male employee make a comment to ask someone to check the carpark for the tea spoons you sort of knew what kind of stay you were going to be having. These comments were made on the Easter Sunday Morning. Also same person belittled a colleague over porridge- not good for the brand and how to promote feiendliness or a great welcome.
Overall we paid premier plus for the room, however half drank bottles under the bed, no tooth brush holder and no safe in the rooms. The bed was not the best, not sure why because normally have great night sleep but not this time. The windows didn't open, not even to a tilt so no fresh air was able to be added Into the room.
Overall slightly disappointed by standards as this is not normally the case when we use premier inn.

We frequent premier Inns a lot for our country wide travels. This time we decided to stay in a hotel near to family with our baby as it was to far for a there and back in one day trip.
We booked a plus room but upon our arrival we’re told “ you do know that these rooms are not for children” or something like that. I appreciate that tbe woman was doing her job. But it did not say any where that we could not have our six month old in a plus room when booking online. We booked this for the sole purpose of the added fridge for babies food and milk.
The woman went on to say that usually when people bringa Baby they ask for a cot and the cot option isn’t available on a plus room. I always bring my own cot as using someone else’s in my opinion is not hygienic and is detrimental to my baby’s health. How is asking for a cot the only indicator of having a child?
We were made to feel criminal.
The woman came across very snotty and although she said that she’d “let it slide this time as well be gone before anyone noticed” I felt very upset and felt as though the once safe haven that was premier inn was no more safe. This is because she then went on to say in a rather funny tone that she would let the night staff know in case someone complains about a baby crying.
Some may think this is all acceptable but it was the tone in which she took with us.
We did not know that you could not have a child with you as it is not clearly stated online.
How does asking for a cot or not indicate if you have a child. There should be a disclaimer saying no children.
We went up the room and I’ll be honest, I cried. I did not feel happy and secure. I had this gut feeling that now my baby would cry all night and we’d be told off. The woman made me feel like I was walking on eggshells and you shouldn’t be made to feel that way with a child.
Premier inn was always one on my favourite hotels for our travels but now I feel that this one experience upset me that much that I may not come back.
We have even cancelled our £400 upcoming holiday with premier inn just because of this incident and the way the lady at the front desk made us feel.
I have not been made to feel so un welcomed in a very long time. I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back. It’s unacceptable to be made to feel the way she made us feel.
It needs to be made obvious that a baby can not stay in certain rooms. Under twos are free so how were we to know? And why was it acceptable to speak to us the way she did. This has ruined our relationship with premier inn and I don’t know if we will ever return. Our safe hotel has been taken away from us.
As a result we left before the night had even begun
and drove home exhausted and upset because we were so worried about being told off for a crying baby.

I'm known for having a knock at PI for their increasing prices and loosing the value for money position in the market. However, on a recent one night trip with my young Grandson the PI @ Skegness Seafront was in a great location and for the Sunday night £75 - have to say lovely nights stay. The staff made it a pleasant night away, very welcoming, efficient and made me feel valued as a customer. It was nice to be in the Breakfast area with a nice comfortable temperature and not ice cold air conditioning blasting away which seems all too common nowdays. The hotel was spotless, the cleaning team do a great job here. You just have to be a bit slective on dates as the location on the Seafront does make for prime pricing at times - but this seems to be the norm with PI now. If you can get the price then I would highly recommend.

The hotel is clean and the staff were warm and welcoming they were always on hand if you needed anything. Big car park for those that drive so plenty of space. The disabled room is actually disabled friendly and the shower is disabled friendly plenty of room for getting in and out in my wheelchair and transferring to the shower is a breeze with all the hand rails. The room and beds were comfy and clean and the temperature if too hot can be sorted by turning the fan on. The restaurant attached serves great food at reasonable prices and the staff were friendly and polite. Great atmosphere. The only niggle I have is the TV was too quiet and can't be turned up (so you don't keep other guests awake). Good idea but not too good for the hard of hearing (subtitles are in the TV but I didn't have my reading glasses so didn't help). The hotel is right in the centre of everything so just a couple of minutes walk to any attraction you want. Value for money great stay great staff. Best disabled rooms and hotel in Skegness would highly recommend.
