We were warned on booking that we would be in the smallest bedroom, but found it large enough and beautifully decorated and looked after. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom very nice, and the breakfast ample and delicious. If we hadn't been meeting friends and going to a wedding we'd also have taken up the offers of cake, wine,...

My wife, son, and I stayed a night on the way back to Windsor from Nottingham over school holiday. Gemma and Alex were beyond perfect hosts, from the first interaction on the phone to goodbye after a delicious (and filling!) breakfast. If all B&Bs were like this, hotels would go out of business. Great location, easy parking across the street,...

One of the 'hyggeligste' (cozyest) places I've ever visited, and coming from a Dane (a.k.a. the inventors of the concept of 'hygge'), this is saying a lot! Gemma has created a jewel of warmth, cozyness, attention to detail, hospitality and well-being, and I cannot recommend it warmly enough. The level of service is extraordinary - and it feels more like...

I stayed with my wife over night while we were in Stamford for my work Xmas party. We were met by a very friendly face who offered us drinks and couldn't have been more helpful, the next morning the breakfast was beautiful with a fruit granola starter. I highly recommend this B & B.

My friend and I had a weekend away from families and were lucky enough to book Stamford Lodge. We were warmly welcomed even looking through the window before we entered the place! The dynamic and generous Gemma has an amazing eye for detail. You can help yourself to a glass of wine, fruit or a slice of homemade cake in...

Making our reservation months in advance I thought Gemma was a quaint grandmotherly type. Wrong! She's an exciting young woman offering gracious hospitality from happy hour to breakfast. Gemma gave us specific recommendations for parking, a walking tour and dining. We loved our guest quarters and can only imagine how she came to possess so many unusual pieces. Our stay...

I have stayed at The Stamford Lodge on a number of occasions over the last few years but always forget to post a review! This is a fantastic B&B run by a great host. Rooms are lovely and the breakfast is amazing. Very well situated for Stamford and all that it has to offer but close enough away for you...

We have just returned from a weekend away in Stamford staying at Stamford Lodge. From the moment you walk in you are made very welcome with nothing being too much trouble such as tea, cake coffee, wine. The rooms are lovely and slightly quirky, a lot of thought has gone into them. The breakfast was lovely, with very good choice...
