Lying within 26 acres of mature, elegant grounds this 60 bedroom historic country house hotel is widely reputed to be the oldest inhabited, moated manor house in England. Sympathetic renovation has provided up-to-the-minute facilities whilst retaining most of its medieval charm and character. Public areas with their fine panelling and mullioned stained-glass windows create a unique historical ambiance; the magnificent Great Chamber is particularly impressive indeed.

I recently visited for my partners birthday. The booking was made online and was quick and easy to do. On arrival to the hotel it was a beautiful drive into the grounds. We had a lovely smooth check in with Liv who wished my partner a happy birthday and explained where all the facilities were. We went to our room, room 26, and it was a lovely spacious room (we booked a classic double). It was a nice surprise that we were gifted a chocolate platter and a card from the hotel / staff. Thank you! The room was full of all the amenities you could ever need from toiletries to sewing kit. Robes and slippers were also provided in the wardrobe with the packing on the slippers encouraging to take them home (all about the reusing and recycling!). There was fresh milk in the fridge. Due to a late arrival our room had already been turned down for the evening with cold fresh water and glasses placed next to the bed. We opted to fill out the room service breakfast card for the morning. In the morning we had a call from Caitlin from in room dinning to inform us when our breakfast was on its way up. It was delightfully delicious and plentiful for the day. We decided to relax in the hotel and use the facilities. Whilst out our room had been refreshed and replenished by the housekeeping staff. The spa and gym was lovely, I would recommend using the pool area outside of kids swimming times. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on outside so we opted out of going for a walk around the beautiful grounds and stayed in our room with Netflix and room service lunch. We brought our own fire-stick and there is easily accessible HMDI port in front of the TV. Lunch in the room was lovely. We had 2 sandwich and they super filling. Mine came with fries and we ordered an extra side of sweet potato fries but the other sandwich did come with a side salad and crisps. In the evening we went down to the bar for a pre dinner drink (we had booked to go elsewhere). Serving us was the lovely Emma and Ash. Sadly my favourite wine is no longer stock at HPH so Emma and Ash recommended me a suitable wine instead and tops to them as it was delicious! We went out for dinner and came back for a nightcap before heading off to bed. Our room had been turned down again and water again put next to the bed and any amenities we had used has been replaced. In the morning we had room service breakfast again which was just as delicious as the day before! We have both had an awful lot going on in our lives at the moment and getting away was just what we needed! It was the perfect mini break. Thank you to all the staff that had made our stay so special. I would like to give a huge thank you to Emma, Ash and Liv for making our stay so memorable and special.

Having worked in the hospitality industry for over two decades, including some of the world’s top five-star hotels, I can confidently say that my experience at this hotel was truly outstanding.
The hotel itself is a historic gem, with a stunning reddish exterior set amidst beautifully maintained green grounds. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking, with picturesque lakes, serene walking paths, and well-kept gardens that make for an unforgettable experience.
Upon arrival, my seminar was scheduled to start at 10:30 AM, but due to an early flight, I arrived well in advance. While early check-in was not possible, the front desk staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. When I inquired about breakfast, the receptionist kindly checked with the restaurant, and despite arriving slightly late, I was warmly welcomed. The waitress(Sandra) who served me was exceptional—polite, knowledgeable, and attentive. She explained the menu thoroughly, checked for allergies, and ensured that every detail of my meal was perfect. Her friendly demeanor and constant smile set the tone for a great start to my stay.
As I had to wait in the lobby before the seminar, I was fortunate to be looked after by an incredible waitress named Alex. Throughout the day, she provided outstanding service, ensuring that all attendees were comfortable. She was proactive, making eye contact, checking in with us during breaks, and even keeping track of those who had dietary issues. Her attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for her job were truly remarkable.
The room itself was clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with no major issues worth mentioning . During dinner, the service was highly professional, with well-trained staff who knew exactly how to serve and present food properly. The only small drawback was that there was no staff presence in the dining room at certain times, so when one of my colleagues needed more gravy, they had to go and find a waitress also there was a wine glass on our table that was chipped, The food was well-prepared and nicely presented, though the chicken could have used a bit more seasoning. The second day’s breakfast experience was slightly less polished, as I think the waitress was a new team member and she was not well trained, she did not ask about dietary restrictions or offer toast, but this was a minor issue. However, once again, Alex was on hand in the function room, ensuring that everything was perfectly arranged and providing service with her signature energy and warmth. She even went the extra mile by arranging a taxi for me and informing me of its arrival time.
Overall, while the hotel’s beauty, surroundings, and food are impressive, what truly sets this place apart is its exceptional staff. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care for guests make all the difference. The level of training and dedication they demonstrate is a testament to the hotel’s investment in its people.
A huge thank you to the general manager and the entire team—I will absolutely be returning, not just for the stunning location, but for the outstanding service that made my stay so memorable.

To celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary we booked an overnight stay in an executive double room, a 55 minute spa treatment, afternoon tea and dinner to celebrate. Two of our daughters chose a handpicked hotel for their weddings, Bailbrook hotel in Bath and Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester which are both stunning. So because our anniversary is close to Christmas on 23rd and we didn’t want far to travel we chose The New Hall Hotel another of the handpicked group. Coming across the car park we were greeted by one of the hotel staff who came from a different direction and upon entering the hotel the reception lady warmly welcomed us. After asking our name immediately wished us a happy anniversary. We were shown the spa area and again made to feel welcome. After a relaxing spa treatment we decided to check into our room. A spacious room, crisp white sheets on the king sized bed, seating area overlooking the garden and a modern bathroom with luxurious fixtures. Plenty of tea and Coffee & biscuits in the cupboard and complimentary still and sparkling water plus a small bottle of milk in the fridge. There were chocolates and balloons on the bureau/dressing table and a handwritten card welcoming us and wishing us a happy anniversary and stay. The afternoon tea was lovely and the waiting staff very attentive. The dinner was delicious, my husband and I both chose the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection and again we were made to feel welcome and special. We went to the bar for drinks, I had a couple of cocktails and my husband had beer. The prices are a little high but nothing more than we expected. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was warm. We found the whole of the hotel tastefully decorated and all areas clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends and family. All the staff and the acting manager were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they spent time chatting to us, we truly felt spoilt. Thank you for making our anniversary treat a really special occasion.

I would unfortunately not recommend this location for a family visit. There’s not much to do, and the spa facilities were disappointing. The gym and small pool are located in an outdoor building, requiring us to walk outside to access them. To make matters worse, the showers in the main building were not working, so we had to walk back to shower after using the pool. This was inconvenient and far from relaxing.
Additionally, my daughter burned her back due to the shower temperature fluctuating from scorching hot to freezing cold. We had to complete an accident form regarding this issue. While Sarah, the manager, was polite and helpful, offering us a discount, we were eager to leave after just one night because of these problems.
The jacuzzi water wasn’t warm enough, the sauna was barely warm, although the steam room did work as expected. For a location advertised as a 4-star establishment, it felt more like a 3-star experience.

We finally managed to book a late 2021 Christmas present at this fantastic hotel spa. My wife and I visited around 6 years ago and our most recent visit was just as perfect as our first.
We used the spa on our day of arrival, which included the use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The facilities were excellent and the changing rooms clean and tidy. My one minor issue was the lack of loungers, with there only being 5 beds but way more guests. There isn't a lot that can be done about this as there is simply no more room around the pool, it's more to highlight it.
For the evening meal we had the chefs 5 course tasting menu which was delicious; our favourite course being the curried parsnip soup. The restaurant was really pretty with it Christmas decorations up and the whole night was really amazing.
We stayed in the Albatross room, which, with it's little sitting room adjoined to it was just what we needed to relax and unwind and enjoy our time away from the kids! The beds were very comfortable and overall room really clean. It was quite warm in the night but to be honest, that was welcome as it was freezing outside! We also didnt hear anybody else at all throughout the night, which was a welcome change to other hotels we have stayed in.
Breakfast was a very nice, if slightly limited, continental buffet. We also both had the Full English which was very tasty. The staff were brilliant throughout our stay and very helpful and accommodating.
We have stayed in a number of Handpicked Hotels over the years and this is one of our favourites. We will definitely be returning again in the future!

My family and I (11 in total) visited New Hall for the Easter Sunday Egg hunt and afternoon tea. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by all of the staff, the day was carefully planned out with maps for the children and adults, the marquee was kitted out in easter bunting and the tables laid all beautiful. It really was a superb day, a wonderful thing to do on Easter Sunday. The staff who served us were second to none - simply wonderful! Great with the children and everything was catered to suit all needs, nothing was too much trouble, I cannot recommend this event enough. A huge shout out to all of the staff who were so kind and friendly and helpful - thank you for a wonderful day New Hall!!

A lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Step back in time and experience a stay at a hotel with history. From the minute we arrived we had such a warm and friendly welcome from Sarah and the team. The room was beautiful and the bed comfy and snug. Evening meal set in a stunning room was delicious and breakfast freshly prepared with plenty of choice. The spa whilst yes, being outside of the main building (as noted from the previous negative review ) was not far at all to walk to and the hotel had umbrellas should they be needed. Again, the staff were welcoming and helpful and we found the facilities relaxing and the treatments fantastic. We loved our stay and would love to return in the future. Thanks everyone.

We booked a spa weekend package with two other couples which included treatments, use of the pool area, lunch (afternoon tea if you wanted it as well) an evening meal and breakfast.
Even before arriving I received several courtesy phone calls to check that all was OK prior to our visit.
The premises are lovely. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived by the friendly and attentive staff.
Some of our party had been to other spa venues and said that this establishment was really good. The quality of the massages was excellent and the pool area, although compact for seating, was very nice and given that there were six of us we had no issues in sitting together poolside. At one point we had the pool area to ourselves it was like our own private spa. Awesome!
Our lunch was lovely and presented nicely, and the evening meal was superb. Easy to see why it has a two star Rosette award.
Our room was the Classic, and it was very clean and we noted that the tea and coffee facilities were replenished before bedtime.
The 9-hole pitch and putt is quite decent and worth a go round, and the there is also a tennis court to use.
In summary; have been to more expensive but not as good places. Can fully recommend New Hall Spa and Hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would certainly return.

We have stayed at New Hall Hotel a couple of times, and it never disappoints! The grounds of the hotel are stunning and the service from staff is even better. We stayed for one night, just to have a break away from home and kids, we were greeted by Sarah and Kris on reception who were so friendly and operated a really smooth check in. Kris offered to take our bags up to our room with us, he was able to give us some history on the hotel which i found really interesting. We sat in the bar relaxed with a drink to enjoy the evening, the staff behind the bar were very friendly and over the evening we had some good banter with them. The room was stunning really out of this world with a welcome basket for us, the room was warm cosy yet spacious. Breakfast was fantastic, we love being able to order breakfast from a menu, every table was set perfectly in the restaurant and when we went to walk around the grounds all staff are always so friendly and saying hello. Sarah was there to check us out and really couldn't do enough for us!!
New Hall your staff are amazing and a real credit to an already beautiful hotel. We will definitely be coming back and already looking forward to it!!

I booked a full day meeting event for 32 people and everything was fantastic. The events team were all over every detail and easy to contact. Contacting me the day before to double check that everything was ok was a lovely touch. The view of the venue as you drive up is special. Arriving at a reserved parking space again organised by the events team was a nice touch. The reception staff were incredible and couldn’t do enough for us. The meeting rooms were very well equipped with a constant flow of tea, coffee and soft drinks. Lunch was of very high standard and once again with fantastic service. Would have liked to stay longer and experience other facilities but our experience was extremely positive and would certainly return

Taxis are about £20 but the X4 bus goes from Reddicap Heath rd to Birmingham centre and it's a 10 minute walk away. I always go in by bus and book a Mercury taxi to meet me at end of gig. The pool area is small but I had a facial which is really good. Can't say anything about veggie meals but I'm sure that if you email well in advance they will sort something.
