I imagine this hotel is pretty fabulous all year, but I experienced it in the run up to the Festive Season which made it all the more special. It's an impressive and imposing building which, possibly more by luck than planning, hasn't been hemmed in and obscured by other buildings. So as you approach it from across the river, you...

Booked for afternoon tea with a few friends a month ago. We were booked for 3:15 on a Saturday afternoon. The service was soo poor took 50 mins to be served our drinks. For the castle hotel this is poor. Even worse it wasn't busy. If you want good service this is not the place for you. Overall the afternoon...

As we drove up I couldn't believe how lovely the hotel looked. Twinkling lights and a beautiful building. However, that's where the compliments end I'm afraid. The bedroom was basic and needs tlc desperately! It was sweltering hot and I spent most of the night afraid I would fall out of the single bed. The restaurant was a strange mix of...

Stayed in the Castle Hotel for a one night break for a dinner/shopping trip. Hotel is vey old and cute. If you like traditional Country House style then its for you; even though a little dated in places. Service from all staff Great The Breakfasts are amongst the best ever samples in a UK hotel ......

If I could give this place a - points I would have. Went for a 70th party. Because there was 11 of us the menu was very reduced although I don't know why as there is only around 20 people in the whole restaurant. My daughter ordered a starter it never arrived had to wait far too long for the...

We were just staying one night, meeting friends and relatives who live locally. We had one of the original style rooms above reception, overlooking the pedestrian area and car park. The room was very large, but quite dark as the creeper outside was half covering the windows and preventing much of the autumn light getting in. Unfortunately some lights in...

Gorgeous building from the outside and characterful on the inside. We stayed for one night only. The staff were brilliant and incredibly helpful. We stay in many hotels and whilst you'd think hotels would recognise how important customer service is most of the staff pay lip service, so this is high praise indeed!! The bar is contemporarily furnished and the...

I have stayed here several times recently and have been made mist welcome by the hotels friendly and attentive staff. Restaurant is a little limited if you on any form of diet. Breakfast is good as long as you don't want a continental. Probably the best if the hotels in central Taunton. Would stay here again next time.

I stayed here for 3 nights on business and the hotel was lovely, the staff were even better! The hotel was perfect for what I needed although I havent stayed in a single bed for a number of years before now. The surrounding area was a little noisy on the Friday night but that is to be expected. The staff...
