There is nothing particularly bad about the hotel: fantastic location, decent if basic rooms, brilliant breakfast, great value for money. For me they're a few small improvements needed to turn this good hotel into an excellent hotel. Firstly, the outside isn't welcoming at all compared to the hotels surrounding it. The hotel next door, the Tynedale has a fantastic outdoor...

The hotel has been nicely refurbished in the reception, bar area and in the dining area. Our room was nice could do with a touch up of paint but the views were lovely and for the price we could not complain. Breakfast was ok without being outstanding but did the job. Would stay again.

I had a brilliant time here at the hotel. The staff are all lovely and pleasant got a room swap which was not the fault of the hotel but dealt with quickly. The sea view is amazing and the breakfast was delicious. The outside could do with being updated but was still lovely to watch the bands playing on the...

Good location right on the promenade and really central. Loved the fact that they were dog friendly and didn't as other hotels do charge for you fetching your dog. Staff friendly but did feel sorry for the man on reception as he was expected to cover the bar and reception! Buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Overall for...

Easy to criticise but this is a budget hotel - you get what you pay for and Brig Y Don ticked the boxes for staff friendliness - room cleanliness - Breakfas and lift. Licensed bar nice for a nightcap. Only gripe (and I'm being 'picky') access to bathroom and shower could have been better (it was a tight squeeze)

Ideal hotel for a few days away, small free car park at rear. Wonderful views over the bay. Breakfast was fine, plenty to eat. TV in room with freeview channels, free Wifi was good. Comfortable bed, blackout curtains and very little noise ( I was on the top floor) Good value for money, would stay again.

Could not fault this hotel at all, very friendly greeting upon arrival, room was large, extremely clean with crisp white bedding and an abundance of towels, lovely sea view to top it off. Breakfast was exceptional, buffet style but a fantastic selection to suit everyone's tastes, the cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection and piping hot, fresh fruits, cereals and...

Lovely hotel! The staff were very helpful, the hotel is also right on the promenade which was a bonus as we had our dog with us (yes they allow dogs). Other hotels that are dog friendly have always been a little run down however the Brig y Don was very well kept. Breakfast comes as standard and there was a...
