Been staying here every year for 12 years.2- 3 years ago was very good (4 star) but now its awful. We've been here 3 days this week and will be glad to leave. First impressions count.....the granite entrance steps were filthy and littered.....3 days on they are still the same. Reception was ignorant to the point of rudeness. Room was...

I stayed over night in this hotel for a conference. It would not usually have been my choice. The decor in the public areas is faded and in need of an up-grade. There is a stale smell on the carpeted staircases which suggests that things haven't been renewed since the smoking ban came into place - which is a long...

Booked this room 15 minutes before i arrived through booking.com, who overbooked the hotel, the woman at the front desk sorted the situation out and gave me a room on the mezzanine floor which had no windows and was fairly small- no issue for me as I was in Eastbourne to work and only needed a place to sleep. The...

Stayed overnight in March via a groupon deal, dinner bed and breakfast with a bottle of wine. Arrived early and purchased a street parking permit for £1, this lasts all day and up to 11am the following day, zone H lots of parking on the neighbouring side streets but I'm guessing high season it will get busy. Parking is £4...

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a side sea view room, recently refurbed we were told.Obviously Bob the builder used it as his practice site, toilet seat smaller than the pan, shower hose that leaked more water than came from the shower head and a towel rail with no rail.Best of all was the water drain...

We stayed here on a Groupon deal in a standard dohble room and included a three course meal and a free bottle of wine. The hotel has a very smart and stylish reception and lounge area. Our room was a good size at the rear of the hotel, clean and comfortable. The dining room was large and airy and we...

Stayed one night last weekend. Long queue at reception as only one person on duty - very pleasant person but needed 2 people on duty on a Saturday. Sea view room okay, basic but clean, bathroom needs regrouting, lovely view. Beds not turned down and coffee/tea etc not replenished. Breakfast was fine. The hotel doesn't compare to The Grand where...

This has to be the worst hotel that I have stayed in. Staff were rude when we complained, the noise that we complained about apparently was our fault as we did not complain earlier. The night porter obviously did not do the rounds that most night porters do. The receptionist at arrival was not the most helpful. She obviously is...

This was a break booked away on a groupon deal . Having stayed at a Britannia group hotel previously .....we didn't expect too much . On check in we were greeted by a very disinterested receptionist , given our room key and directed to our room . This was spacious and clean , and the bathroom was recently renovated. We...
