The room was spacious (although quite dated) and the bed was comfortable. We were given a room with a balcony at the end of the hall on the 4th floor meaning we had a fantastic view of the sea. We stayed here as we needed to be close to the pier to get the ferry over to koh phangan and back again the next morning but if you don't need to be near the pier then there is little else nearby. The staff we encountered during our stay spoke little to no English which made it slightly difficult when trying to find out what restaurants were around and where we could get our laundry done. The room was fairly cheap but would only use this hotel as a base for a night or two before working out where on koh samui you want to stay.

We immediately found bed bugs on and around our bed. When we informed the lady at the front desk she denied that the hotel had them even though we saw them for ourselves. When we asked to switch rooms she told us nothing was available despite the abundance of room keys behind the front desk. After we pointed this out she gave us the room directly beside our original room....

Got off the ferry and started walking down the street until i found a hotel with a price i'd be willing to pay. Win Hotel is 620 baht per day for a king size or twin bed room, which is acceptable. The rooms seem quite old, but not so much it bothers me. They have working mini-refrigerators, seem clean, and get sheets changed every day, although i'm no fan of the carpet-floors. Wifi router is close to the stairs, and becomes useless if you get a room at the end of the hall. Staff spoke english to very varying degrees, but receptionists was mostly ok in that regard. (Ang Thong isn't really the place to be, but it works very well as a temporary base of operations for going to immigration, the hospital, or scouting the island before you figure out where you want to settle down. As opposed to pre-ordering a resort online and realizing it's a complete freakshow after you get there. When you are done with your errands you just walk back to the ferry, without that pesky several hundred baht taxi bill, which can be 400-1200 baht, depending on how you order. That being said, if you go further down the same street parallell to the water, you find a fitness gym, massage parlor, bike-rental shop, travel agency, and Lucky Restaurant which has amazing food. If you walk into Ang Thongs main street there are a lot of small shops and you can get a lot of shopping done too.)

Big aircon rooms, make sure you ask for one with balcony for stunning views at mo extra cost all at very reasonable rates, to be recommended. No food in hotel, but there are couple of good quality restaurants nearby.

The positive moment about this hotel-it's location just near the Pier. The room is average: rather big, with a quiet cozy bed, a bit noisy fridge and a huge industrial-like air-condition. The bathroom is tiny, ours was smelly. There is no elevator, so if you have heavy bags, you'd better ask for a lower floor. The hotel is not expensive, but you can find a better place for these money.
