We've just arrived back from Koh Phaluai after 5 days at Angthong Beach Resort and we really wish we could have stayed. The resort was beautiful, located on the beach with clear, warm water and views of other smaller islands and karsts. Our beach hut house was set in a lovely, very spacious garden which hornbills visit everyday, views of the sea and so many seating areas to choose from. The room was really comfortable, not too warm with a fan. We both loved the open roof shower, where you can have the sun on you during the day or stars overhead at night. It was so great! But, what made this place really special was the warm, welcoming and kind hosts who took care of us everyday - thank you Mae (Mum), Nam, Nat and family for everything, including arrangements to and from the island. All the food was delicious, everything was made vegetarian for us and we even got to learn how to make a Tom Kha. We were always looked after and well fed :) Nam also arranged for us to visit Angthong National Park by fisherman boat, giving us lunch for the day in a tiffin box - it was stunning, and we arrived at all the spots before the big tour boats from Samui. Hugely recommend the trip. We also spent a couple of days at Ao Kang Tak beach on the West of Phaluai, which was breathtaking and we had the stretch to ourselves. We also got to kayak from the resort's beach and relax with their three lovely cats. The island is run almost entirely on solar and wind, which is brilliant and has gorgeous natural landscapes. We had such a lovely time, it was the pefect end to our Summer holiday and we hope to visit again soon.

I live in Thailand and I thought I have seen many wonderful places but Ang Thong marine park smashed me by its unspoiled beauty and Angthong Beach Resort was THE perfect place to stay. The room was decorated with great taste and comfortable . The resort is very well maintained, in a lush garden and right on a beautiful beach. The food at the restaurant was very good and I could not get enough of their ti punch. The owners are super friendly, take great care of their guests, speak super good English and were extremely caring with very good advice for what to do and visit. It is the place to be!

Fantastic hosts who really made our stay easy and exciting in what could otherwise have been a leap too far into the wilds! The rooms are hot during the day but perfectly comfortable at night. The resort is peaceful and pretty with plenty of old fashioned entertainment for evenings. There's a sort of hostel feel but much calmer. The food is top notch and traditionally delicious. Hire a scooter and brave the short trek to the most beautiful beach on the island. Kayaks are included in the price of the room and are good fun. The loo and shower are open to the elements but I hardly saw a bug in there! Much less intimidating than some bathrooms in much more expensive places. All in all a wonderful place really made special by the hosts

What a wonderful place to stay! The beautiful resort is based on a magical island, have of which is a nature reserve. The owners and the crew are so kind and welcoming, making you feel right at home. If you want to see Thailand as it was years ago, simple, friendly and not full with tourists- that is the place! We miss it already...

This is definitely a jewel in the crown for Angthong National Marine Park. Nat and Top were amazing hosts and looked after us well. Due to the remoteness of the island it can take a bit of organising to get to the island at the times you want. Nat was fantastic in helping us organise our travel plans. Which to be fair isn’t her responsibility, but she was always on hand to help. She also arranged for us to hire a private longboat back to the mainland which was an amazing experience, the boatman was great and stopped when he spotted pink dolphins, also made sure our luggage was well wrapped and we stayed dry. I would definitely recommend at around 2000 baht, although if shared this cost can be split. There is of course the ferry that can take you too for about 300 baht each. The resort itself is very well maintained, excellent standards of cleanliness. We stayed in a bungalow and then a deluxe room for our last night, both were lovely. The food was delicious, lots of Thai dishes to choose and drinks available too. There isn’t really anywhere else to go to eat, maybe a fish restaurant nearby but for us the chilled out ambiance of Angthong Resort was just what we love. We would highly recommend the day tour to the Marine Park that Nat can arrange, the longboat trip takes you to the main viewpoint early and you beat the day trippers from Koh Samui. We had the stunning viewpoint to ourselves, before the selfie obsessed turned up! Nat and Top can advise on activities and visits on Koh Phaluai too. Without doubt in our many years of travelling to Thailand Angthong Resort, with Nat, Top and their team have excelled in their warm welcome and hospitality. We will hope to return and we will definitely recommend to our friends.
