This hotel is an absolute gem! If you're looking for non descriptive and indiscernible luxury hotel like a Four Seasons, St. Regis or Ritz-Carlton, this is not for you, but if you're looking for a small luxury hotel with history, with amazing staff and attention to every detail, this is the place. The entire property is beautifully appointed. The bar is cozy and inviting with beautiful views, right next to the bar is L'Oursin, in another beautiful setting overlooking the cliff and water, the food is simply exceptional. Breakfast is served in an indoor / outdoor setting, and the quality and selection at breakfast doesn't miss anything! On the beach is the 2nd restaurant, La Spiaggia, again beautifully appointed and airy with great food. True to the name, the feel is very beach(y) yet totally elegant. There's plenty of beach chairs with lots of room in between them so it never feels cramped. The loungers are very comfy with very attentive beach service! The lunch at the beach excelled any other beach lunch I had in a long time. The rooms give a luxury beach vibe, clean and bright yet inviting and cozy. The bathrooms are clean (!) and luxurious including the towels, amenities and Aqua di Parma cleaners. Without exception, the staff was friendly and attentive, and a joy to be around. The service at this hotel was extremely amazing, everyone who worked there was genuinely amazing and helpful and from the second I arrived until leaving it was perfection. The one bedroom suite was very spacious and nice, my trip was really short and I feel like I did not have enough time to enjoy it enough because I wanted to be at all the outlets instead

Our time at La Sammana was absolutely incredible! The service, room, and food blew us away. The ocean views from the rooms are unmatched and I highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Saint Martin.

We took a 3 bedroom Villa (#6) with our family that includes a 10-month old baby. Valerie Gustave, the Villa manager ensured that everything was perfect and the staff bent backwards to accommodate us. The service is intuitive, instantaneous, and genuinely thoughtful. The 3 bedrooms are completely equal in size and all a bit different…just enough to feel “homey”and each has an en suite bathroom bigger than a NYC bed-sit! All with tubs and separate rain showers. The villa is also so soundproof that everyone will have privacy. The private pool is large enough to actually swim and the views are all ocean. The common area are large and well appointed. Max, our Villa host was amazing.

Recently stayed at La Samanna to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. Wonderful location, facility, staff (especially the senior personnel who have been on the property for years and are highly respected), and food/drink. Treated to a private rum tasting in La Cave..excellent experience. Very much enjoyed our time on St. Martin. Toured the island with Benny...highly recommended. Spent a great day sailing on the wonderful catamaran Freedom with an outstanding captain & crew...also highly recommended. Had excellent weather. Relaxed on the beach where staff frequently came by to take food & drink requests which was greatly appreciated. Rented a car which wasn't used very often and, for us, a mistake. Private touring and the occasional taxi was less expensive and more productive. Try to visit the port area on days when the cruise ships aren't in port. A wonderful visit. …

I have been going to this hotel since the 1970's when it was run by the founder Mr. Franke. The property has never disappointed me. The food, staff, service and that beach are incredible. A place to recharge your soul.

Another wonderful trip to la samanna ! The service/ customer relations is always consistently “stellar “. As a solo traveler safety is important . Iam well cared for . A beautiful gated property No need to leave all your needs are met . The beach is exquisite with all the related beach services . You want for nothing . The staff on all levels are fabulous , they remember their guests names with a warm sincere greeting . Their are many carribean resorts that compare, but la samanna has a very special ambiance . The management is superior GM Eleonore and Matthias deserve kudos for meeting all of their customers needs and always go above and beyond . They are well respected by their staff and guests . FABULOUS on every level! We needed a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday that would allow us to relax, rest and have some quality time, and La Samanna offered us that and so much more!! From the first smile at the entrance gate to the last smile at check out, the entire team took great care of us. There is just something so special at La Samanna that you rarely find at other hotels and restaurants, and that is the genuine smiles and care from the staff. Everyone spoke perfect English, they seemed happy to be helping us whenever we needed and went above and beyond! The property is stunning, as soon as you step in the lobby, you are mesmerized by the color of the crystal clear blue-ish emerald ocean that stretches for miles and miles. The grounds are well kept and our suite had everything we could have asked for. We loved both pools and especially the infinity pool at sunset with a cocktail in hand (they make great margaritas). We have been to many luxury hotels in St Maarten and in St Barth, and La Samanna is definitely a favorite and the best one in St Maarten. We cannot wait to go back. It's the ideal set up for a getaway, family vacation, honeymoon or to celebrate a milestone. …

Wow, where to start with our review of La Samanna?! From the moment we checked in, we were treated to refreshing welcome drinks and were treated to a complimentary upgrade for our honeymoon. We stayed in one of the terrace suites- and thought the room was very tastefully done, with a super comfortable bed and amazing views from the terrace. Of course, the grounds of the hotel and the beach are beyond beautiful. One of our favorite things was wandering through the gardens each morning for breakfast- admiring all the flowers and wildlife throughout the hotel. Breakfast was definitely a highlight! The buffet/menu were full of options from fresh pastries to omelets and Benedicts. Amy, Crystal, and Candice always checked in on us and were such a great part of our stay. The beach and pool were wonderful and we really loved all the drinks and food we tried. The snorkeling and watersports were also fantastic. Our favorite dinner had to be at La Spiaggia- the food and atmosphere were amazing, and Christina took such great care of us and helped us choose the perfect menu items and drink pairings! The hotel is beautiful and relaxing but the people are truly what make La Samanna so special. We had an amazing week and can't wait to go back!…
