Staff is extremely kind and my room.a double was spacious with a comfortable bed and very clean
Breakfast also typical Welsh breakfast is available at discounted price at a very near bar and there is a vast choice of nearby restaurants too.
The hotel has got a very nice view on mumbles Bay and not far from the town Beaches of Gower peninsula are easy to reach as well
At ground floor there is a nice pub open every day frequented by.customers and locals
I enjoyed my stay straight in the heart of mumbles and I.would love to come back
Thank.you Carlton hotel
The furniture looked as if it come from charity shop, especially the metal bed and bent cheesy curtain pole above the clothes cupboard.
The crowning glory for me was on departure when I saw the clean folded towels and bed sheets outside in the corridor awaiting to be placed in either our room or another room on the same floor. These towels were not on a trolley or anything, as you would expect, instead they were actually on the corridor floor, now that's some filthy s**t.
This hotel is a disgrace at over 100 pounds a night, should a trip advisor review was mandatory by every single guest, this place would be finished.
I did get a discount on my departure that paid for my parking ticket I received, however the discount should have been a free night , instead of a lump off.
It's not all negative though, the staff are friendly, the breakfast is nice, however for less money you could get a very nice b and b that's clean and fresh.
Hotel could be great with some work, as location is superb.
The room itself was very unclean, their were cobwebs in every corner and on the wardrobe, the skirting boards were thick with dust, open shower gel packet in the shower and the carpet was bitty and grubby. Normally i wouldn't write a review but with the current covid situation id of expected i high level of cleanliness. If these things weren't cleaned then what else wasn't cleaned adequately?
I payed £250 for two nights with an extra £20 for our pet so, as you can imagine i was very upset. To charge this amount and not care about the service you provide is disappointing. We decided to cut our trip short and leave after one night. What a waste of money.
The website indicates that it includes breakfast but apparently they haven’t served breakfast for two years!
The only positive thing to say is that the room was clean!
After that it is overpriced at £105 per night for a room that is nothing more than basic. The shower has the wrong hose fitted so it leaked and did not fit in the bracket so hung down like a dying swan!
They were unable to provide us with bottled water despite there being a bar downstairs.
If you needed anything someone from that bar strolled in to speak to you.
Needless to say we stayed out as much as possible, thank God the weather was good!
Would not recommend.
The staff were pleasant both on reception and with the bar give the COVID-19 restrictions.
If you’re looking for a place to stay where you’ll spend a lot of time it’s probably to basic for that.
But if you’ll be out exploring most of the time then this is more than suitable.
COVID-19 restrictions meant we didn’t get a cooked breakfast but had continental that was delivered to the room. It wasn’t great but appreciate it was tricky with the rules that were in place.
There is no on site parking so you’ll need to pay for parking which is opposite the hotel. About £6 for a day.
Inside the hotel our room was up two flights of stairs and down another. There was no handrail on the third. Our room looked ok but we realised it was very damp. All the bedclothes felt damp and after 3 days our clothes had begun to smell.
All the surfaces, felt sticky and could have done with a wipeover.
The television had only 1 working channel , we asked about but was told it's normal for here!
The bar did not have any lager on tap so only expensive cans, our second glass of Pinot Grigio came pink and sparkling.
There is no lounge, just a room which acts as a corridor between the bar and the rest of the hotel, and has bikes pieces of wood as part of the decor. The corridors are littered with window frames step ladders and other builders stuff.
The location is fine the food ok and the water was hot.
For the price we thought it was rubbish and very disappointing.
