Norton House Hotel & Restaurant is applauded for its cleanliness, with a nod to the recent refurbishment that left the rooms clean, comfortable, and well-furnished. The hotel's amenities and welcoming atmosphere receive positive remarks, although some guests suggest improvements and more space in communal areas. The establishment is praised for its value, with reasonable pricing for the services offered. While the rooms are mostly appreciated, a few guests think they could be larger and more updated. The helpful and friendly staff contributes to the positive experience, and the hotel's prime location near the seafront and local attractions is consistently highlighted by travelers.

We visited for a few days in August. The reason we stayed here was because of the ample car parking and because it was within an easy walk of Mumbles, where we were visiting relatives. Room prices are reasonable - particularly given the lack of any decent hotels in this area. The room we had was rather small and furnishing was of only average quality. Without air conditioning it was also very hot in the couple of days of Summer heat that we had, even with the window permanently open. The cooked breakfast is fine - although in these Covid (no buffet) times the choice if you don’t want the traditional breakfast is rather limited. We only ate in the hotel on one evening but the food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced - even ignoring the Eat Out to Help Out discount.

We arrived an hour prior to check in but were greeted with a warm welcome and our room was ready with the key left in the door for us. On arrival to the hotel it is signposted from the coastal road but not on the actual car park, fortunately there isn't any other hotels with a large car park in the area so you know you're in the right place.

Our room (no.11) was very small but modern, nicely decorated and had a door straight on to the outside where the car park is, with a small table and chairs for our use. We could see the sea from here too! The location is great, a 10 minute walk from the main bars and shops.

Unfortunately we didn't realise until returning at night, but the walls are literally paper thin. We could hear the man above us snoring and walking around as the floors as very creaky. This didn't ruin our stay as such, but if you're a light sleeper you may need to take some ear plugs to feel well rested in the morning.

On the plus side the breakfast was delicious, staff were lovely and we would stay here again.

A delightful Georgian residence with plenty of parking right outside. Probably the only hotel in The Mumbles with easy parking
A special thanks to Alicia who greeted us with a warm welcome as well as
a safe check in & out,
The hearty Welsh breakfast was superb , as well as a choice of cereals, juices, yogurts , toast ,marmalade etc .
Nothing was too much trouble
The restaurant was very clean,
We stayed in room 2 which was immaculately clean and comfortable.
High ceilings ornately decorated, beautifully crisp white sheets and high-quality white towels
Summing up, it’s completely exceeded our expectations. Amazing value for money compare to most of the other hotels.

Would we go back? Most definitely yes!!!

We stayed twice over this summer,

Firstly in a superior / executive room for our anniversary at the end of July. The room was a lovely size, with a great walk in shower.

The second was in Three Cliffs apartment (for 3 people - the other three apartments are for 4 people). The apartments have had full refurbishments during covid so they look nice and modern. Apartments have two separate bathrooms, large fridge, freezer, full kitchen etc...

We ate in the restaurant on both visits, the 3 course evening meal is great value, the food is of a high standard (can recommend the lamb shank).

Staff here are always great, and plenty of free parking within the hotel grounds.

For a visit to Swansea / Mumbles / Gower you will be hard pushed to find a better location and hotel to stay at.

Stayed two nights at this hotel easy to find great check in as Covid restrictions apply. Room lovely and clean not massive but had tea coffee etc hairdryer bathroom was very small you could sit on the loo and your knees could touch the sink! But plenty of hot water and the shower was great. One thing the tv keeps turning itself on it woke me up at 4.30! Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was slightly chaotic we filled our form in the night before with table time etc as at the moment you can eat outside your room or on the terrace, but no tables were ready when we turned up didn’t seem enough staff to manage it then we got our breakfast which wasn’t right hubby vegetarian so I hadn’t ticked the black pudding bacon sausage etc but both plates were the same food was nice but the toast arrived a long time after this think they were just busy, this morning it took a long time as we ordered when we got there but were happy to wait as the sun was out! But it was still wrong even when we ticked the boxes.

We were a family party of 9 staying in two apartments and a superior room from 7-9th August. Whilst the room was fine, the apartments were not very clean with stained sheets , crumbs in cutlery drawers and dust marks on surfaces.
On our first morning we asked if we could get a cooked breakfast fast as we were trying to get to the beach. We were assured it could be served quickly but it seems our order was lost and after waiting 25 minutes we gave up. The second morning our breakfast was served a bit faster but it was poor quality. We complained to a manager but nothing was offered as compensation at check out.
After getting home we called again and were assured we would get a refund but nothing has materialised.

A chambermaid/waitress who had seen our problems on the first morning apologised profusely. Such a contrast with the managers who were pretty dismissive. We wouldn’t recommend the hotel unfortunately as the location is great.

Very convenient position almost in the sea front
Classic clean hotel . Large executive room
Special mention of the excellent ‘Seafood Bistro’
Which also serves a range of meat dishes.
The food was of a high order, however the very good service in the restaurant deserves a mention
I arrived late and requested a table for 3 in what is a popular eating place for non residents also.
The table was made available without a problem
On arrival at the restaurant I had to extend the table to 7
This was organised almost without notice and without any fuss.
The food was excellent and the waiting period was short for a table of seven

Our recent wedding was a triumph, we had a wonderful day made special by the care and attention of the team at Norton house hotel. From booking they made everything easy, tasting the full menu to select our personal choices was a delight. They had every colour of ribbon to match any brides choice of bridesmaid dresses for the beatifully dressed chairs. The room decorations were subtle and tasteful to compliment any personal decorations you want to add, and Ruth couldn't have been more helpful, through the whole run up to the day.
The actual package was fantastic value for money, from the welcome drink & canapes after the service, to the fantastic three course wedding breakfast & accompanying wines, to the fabulous evening buffet. Every guest commented on how delicious the food was and how helpful the staff were. The garden was great for photo's and with the beach only a 2 minute walk away (in heels) you could take advantage of stunning views of Mumbles head. Another great plus is the number of bedrooms included in the package, if you have family or friends travelling to attend, your guests can stay over in a great room and enjoy a delicious cooked or cold breakfast included in the package.
If you are looking for a wedding venue you won't find a better option in or around Swansea, it was perfect.

We booked an Executive room on a very good deal this time, as the standard rooms are a bit compact. This room was one of the largest we've had in a UK hotel and had a nice comfortable seating area, although the bathroom was very small. We only eat breakfasts here this time as there are so many great restaurants around, but they were all excellent quality and freshly cooked to order. Overall a very enjoyable stay and the staff were all very welcoming and professional.

The friendly and welcoming ambience is amazing. The hotel exudes a calm aura and since refurbishment Everton g has been done in good taste and enhanced and maintained buildings traditional architecture.
Being in close proximity to the sea it means a warm nights slumber with cooling and refreshing sea breezes wafting through the window.
The breakfast is as good as any I have succumbed to,well prepared with well sourced ingredients.
The staff were courteous and friendly even to the extent of offering bottled water for our onward journey,a thoughtful touch.
It is situated in an ideal position for exploring the Gower.
Get in there!

If you get the bus to town and get off at Singleton hospital, where you can catch the No4 bus direct to the ground. This bus runs between Singleton and Morristown hospitals passing the ground. A day rover ticket for the bus costs £4.20 and can be used for as many trips as you like on the day
