We stayed here and I have to say, regardless of other people's negative reviews, this hotel is unbelievably pleasant, shockingly affordable for a couple on a South African budget it was PERFECT for us. If you're looking for pampering and 5 star treatment, don't stay at a 3 star hotel. This is perfect if you want simplicity without sacrificing a...

My wife and I went stayed at the Hibiscus in February as guests at a wedding at the nearby Grand Mauritian which is only a 15 minute drive away. We'd booked it last minute and was very cheap so weren't expecting too much from the hotel. We booked it with the full board option. We hired a car from the...

Dined at the Hibiscus restaurant a few times. The food only barely reaches acceptable level, and is overpriced. Staff tried to rip us off using the old "there is no menu" trick on several occasions. We stayed in Pereybere for two weeks in March 2008. The village is relaxed and quiet, however Grand Baie is just a 5 min bus...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Hibiscus for a week now in March. We really enjoyd the luxury of the hotel. It is really beautiful surroundings of the hotel. The beautiful seaweiw and the nice staff. I love that the hotel have a ladder down to the sea, that you can launch your self from in to the beautiful turquoise...

I Stayed at the Hibiscus Hotel in June for a week with my sister and both my parents. I wouldnt say that one would experience a bad time at the hotel but the hotel is distinctly amateurish in all areas. The staff are very amateur and are not very professional. They are mainly local residents and do not have the...

My partner and I have just returned from 9 days at the Hibiscus. We had a wonderful time and really could barely fault the hotel. Admittedly things didn’t start too well when we arrived in the late afternoon and were left sitting in the lobby for about half an hour before being taken to our room. From then on things...

Just returned from honeymoon in Mauritius and had a wonderful two weeks at the Hibiscus Hotel in Pereybere. Having read some of the other more negative reviews all I can say is what a load of rubbish. The staff were friendly and helped us all they could. The rooms were cleaned everyday and were well presented. The food in the...

To everyone who gets frighted by the negative reviews.. ignore them. If you are looking for a small hotel in a tropical, quiet surrounding this is the place for you. All we wanted was a nice hotel in peaceful surroundings with good beaches and we got it. Sure the hotel does not have its private beach but a pontoon but...

I dropped in at Hibiscus when wandering around Pereybere whilst staying at Ocean Beauty. I was accosted by a zealous "security" man. I made it to reception and asked for a brochure but was brusquely told thet there weren't any. I then asked if I could have a quick look round. "No. Only our guests are allowed past reception." "What...
