I had booked this hotel 4+ months in advance, to come midway in a 2 week camping trip. It would be time for a bit of luxury after a first week under canvas. The website content and pictures bowled me over and the tripadvisor reviews were pretty good too. On arrival, we did have that "ooh wow" effect the website...

Just the most beautiful hotel room I've stayed in. Love the frosted glass cube with the bathroom in, love the beams, love the view over the river. Went on a study trip as a competition finalist and had a great time, Norway is amazing and I noticed everything is spectacularly clean! Even the streets!

Interesting historical property that has been renovated as a modern and chic hotel. Our room succeeded in cramming as many modern amenities as you can fit in a small space, but it was a small space nonetheless. If you are traveling with lots of stuff, you may be hard pressed to find where to put it. Otherwise, it was perfectly...

The hotel had arranged for the shuttle bus to pick us up from Alesund airport but when the bus failed to arrive immediately suggested that they would pay for a taxi (£40) for us. We had booked a suites a we wanted our son in a room with us but were delighted to be upgraded when we arrived. The suite...

The hotel is very nicely located on one of the old street and we had a beautiful view of the harbor and the mountains. The rooms are on the small side and, while nicely decorated in a rustic ways, may be hard to navigate for tall people (I'm only 5'2" and the ceiling beam was quite close....). The breakfast (included)...

Really good and charming hotel in the city center. Attended a business dinner at Maki, the hotel restaurant, which was a fantastic experience. Great 5 course meal, this is the place to go for the best seafood meal you've had in a while.

The hotel was lovely, with good views over the canal. The room we had was small but I think its typical in Norway. The breakfast was nice but could have had a better selection of hot food. The staff were helpful and sitting at the bar with the open fire was very restful. Very good hotel - would recommend it

Great location! Awesome architecture! Helpful front desk! Delicious breakfast! We loved this hotel!! Everything about it was better than expected! It has a really dark, warm feel when you walk into the front door. There are huge glass windows overlooking the water where you eat breakfast - which had a ton of variety! Our room was nice and spacious. The...

Be sure to book a room that overlooks the water and ask for a bathroom that a tally has a bath....If you want a bath! The shower is great, by the way. Breakfasts are good but the cooked food on the buffet could be better. Staff excellent and the hotel quirky. Room 410 is a good one not on the...

We stayed in room 207 for three nights. I booked a 'water view' and was not disappointed - we had two windows both looking out over the harbour. We were not troubled by any noise coming from the street, the harbour, or inside the Hotel itself and the bed was extremely comfortable. However, I was disappointed by the size of...
