Whoever gave this Dickensian monstrousity 4 stars really does need a rethink. In trying to be constructive I cannot find any plaudits I could pass on for this hotel. From the unhelpful and inexperienced front desk to the rude and scruffy restaurant maitre de to the smallest, dirtiest bathrooms and Victoriana rooms this is one experience I sincerely would recommend...

One night stop before we headed North to Trondheim. Very ornate non-contemporary hotel, so made a pleasant change from the normal sterile hotels you see all over the UK. Service was very good and were useful when called upon Nothing negative, except the usual view of other rooms from the window. On a positive note the breakfast was of exceptional...

Well, there I was for a two night stay in the Bristol hotel in Oslo. Right in the middle of the city, good location. Nice lobby, efficient check-in and check-out. Good breakfast buffet -very extensive- , good coffee. But... Got stuffed away in a very small room on the fourth floor with a one person bed and the tiniest of...

Wife and I stayed one night in Dec. Crowded hotel due to party seson, but quick service. Polite and helpful staff, that not hesitated to suggest other options. Got fare priced room due to early booking, but normal prices pretty hight. The room and hotel is a bit on the weared Down side, but it is tidy and clean. It...

A big old-fashioned hotel well placed for the historic parts of town and the National Gallery and university. Large lobby with cafe and bar, always bustling and busy. I had a Club room which was absolutely enormous, with a big desk, comfortable chairs, and lots of storage space, bathrobes and slippers. Nice toiletries available (L'Occitane) in the bathroom and underfloor...

What shall I say? I become like a child in this hotel. The staff is so kind, and give all the guests the same good feeling. It's a real good experience. The service I s excellent, food the same. I really enjoy this! Merry Christmas to all of you who read this.

A good, clean and convenient hotel in a central location. Although a very old hotel, several upgrades made it pleasant and relaxing and certainly quiet. Only one overnight stay gave little time to access amenities. Great service in restaurant and Library for Julebord and follow on.

I stayed at the Hotel Bristol for two nights and found it very comfortable. The staff were helpful and polite, but don’t plan on eating here on the weekend as it seems to be very popular with theatre goers. However, what I really enjoyed was the breakfast. There is a huge selection of very fresh food of all types. No...

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Large great rooms with nice beds. Some rooms even have a balcony. The breakfast is nice, and the pub has great bartenders who can create sophisticated drinks. The location is both central in downtown Oslo, and in a quiet area.

Dear "Vilhelm H", Thank you for your feedback on Tripadvisor. I am happy to read your kind words about one of our great bartenders, that makes many great drinks in Bristol Bar. I will make sure to forward this comment to the Bar Manager. Welcome back to Hotel Bristol! Best regards, Are Grongstad

If you have come into money, or are visiting Norway on an oil contract, this hotel is a must. Contemporary needs have changed (like a fifty square metre room that this hotel can't deliver), but 'class' is eternal. The from the art nouveau lampstands, to the sumptuous breakfasts, this is a locale not to be missed. But you need the...
