So you have to walk 20 minutes to the city centre. The rooms are large with full bathrooms and great views. Free WiFi and great service but also priced reasonably. Restaurants are close by and you can easily rent a bike for a day. Forgot your spotify account, well they have that covered for you too.

Extremely happy with all aspects of this hotel. Clean functional room, great decor, excellent breakfast and easily accessible to central Oslo. The river is a short walk away and affords a lovely stroll through different parts of the city

Always love to return to this very nice hotel. Great location in Gönerlökka. There are loads of bars and restaurants around. Shopping is also very good in that part of the town, if you are not looking for the typical uniform big brand main street shops.

We should visit Wallmans for a show, and choose Vulkan as the place to live. The Hotel had great location, just over "Mathallen" and VERY close to Grunerløkka. Nice walking area by the river, and central to Pubs and Restaurants! Very good breakfast included. All over we where very satisfied with the hotel, compared to the price!

We stayed two nights at the Scandic Vulkan. This was my third trip to Oslo and so far I had stayed at different Thon hotels. I expected similar quality of Scandic, but the experience was overall disappointing. On the plus side, the location is fantastic, and the breakfast is also pretty nice. I also appreciated that our room was ready...

It was a great experience! Very close to Mathallen Oslo that you will enjoy different cultural foods. And Grunerløkka is the best hippy part of Oslo. Great restaurants and kaffes nearby. Room was enough for a couple. It was clean and smells clean! Not so many food to choose from on breakfast. We did enjoy our stay!

I picked this location as the neighbourhood sounded interesting yet a bit quieter for sleeping than the Karl Johan hotels. The fairly reasonable price also included an excellent breakfast buffet with good options for the dairy and gluten free. I was a little worried when due to checking in late we were stuck with a roadside room, but the noise...
