A lot of museums in walking distance and really nice restaurants and shops. Staff recommended a nice local restaurant and I enjoyed wonderful dinner in the good mood. Very friendly and kind to any services.

When travelling its great to stay in a hotel as good or better than your own home and this hotel fitted for us! It's well located with a luxury bed and pillows, bathroom was a bit tight with a nasty step out of the shower but otherwise well appointed. The staff are very professional, keep to themselves but very helpful... More

Great location, very helpful staff, especially those on the front desk. Rooms were on the small size, but very comfortable and the location of the hotel was very central, yet quiet. Close to all the sights. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The front desk staff were very helpful in helping us sort out restaurants... More

Great location, close to museums and walking distance to Spittelberg area where you will find many small nice restaurants and small shops. The hotel has a great staff, very friendly and helpful. As many European small hotels go, the rooms, though nice, are somewhat small. After our first night we requested a change to a larger room and a firmer... More

Nice hotel and the staff was great including all of the wonderfully helpful front desk staff. The hotel includes a full breakfast which is fantastic and most of the time it was great. However there was one person that worked in the breakfast room (dark hair and glasses) that rude, short and we characterized as being the B word. It's unfortunate... More

Everything about this hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. The restaurant laid on a very good breakfast ... a glass of bucks fizz is a great way to start the day. The location, just outside the ring in the Museum Quarter, meant that everything was within... I recently visited the Das Tyrol for three nights and would definitely stay there again. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful the entire time. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide range of items, both hot and cold. The room was lovely as well. It was well decorated and very clean. I also really appreciated... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in early December. The hotel is close to the Museum Quarter and a short walk to the Hofburg Palace and the Graben area. The basic rooms are a bit small in size but nicely decorated. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were comfortable but were two singles... More

This is a great hotel in a perfect location. We arrived for the Christmas Markets in late November and found it's location perfect for walking to most all of the attractions in Vienna. The hotel staff were so friendly and accommodating. The morning breakfast was very nice, one of the best we have experienced in our travels through Europe. We... More

There's nothing better than, after a long tiring journey, arriving at your hotel to the warmest greeting and to feel that you are totally expected and welcome. Such was our arrival at Das Tyrol. Throughout the whole of our stay we felt we were treated as extra special guests. Every single member of staff was warm, friendly and helpful. The... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
