We stayed here for 5 nights in September and we loved this hotel. The staff are fantastic-pleasant and helpful. Our room was at the end of the hall and had two very large windows so it was very bright. We loved the modern/traditional feel of the furnishings. The room is well-designed and very comfortable. The bathroom was bright, spotless and...

We stayed here two nights before leaving for home. The only negative ... the rooms are small. But, everything else about this boutique hotel is so above average that the room size is of no great consequence. The wi-fi is very strong, but limited to two devices at one time (which seems fair). The buffet breakfast was delicious with many...

Spent 4 nights in the Studio and loving it. We were a bit sceptical when we looked at the hotel photos as it seemed like a really old hotel. Due to its location (it was indeed very strategic, walking distance to the museums, subway, grocery store, restaurants and shopping street), we booked it anyway. Upon arrival in the evening, we...

We stayed in Vienna in June, 2014 and I returned to the Das Tyrol on my way back to England after visiting Eastern Europe in July / August, 2014. So I've spent a total of four nights (3 + 1) at Hotel Das Tyrol and I love this place. The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the...

From the smiling front desk person to the solicitous servers at breakfast, this extraordinarily art-inclined hotel is a delight. Every nook and cranny offers some kind of thoughtful presentation of creativity. Even the windowsills at each floor landing has a theme. Anyone at the hotel must venture to the downstairs bathroom--the red snakeskin toilet and sink are beyond kitschy and...

This is a nice hotel in a great area within walking distance to train station, restaurants, markets and opera hall. The rooms are normal European size but everything is very clean! There is a good European breakfast and the coffee is made fresh at order (best drinks we had in Europe). Eggs can be cooked to order, but are VERY...

Small and very comfortable, near the main sites. Rooms are good, service is excellent and breakfast great, what more? Have dinner just round the corner at Vapiano, Italian food and good quality/price relation

The Das Tyrol occupies a fantastic position to explore the city of Vienna. It's located a few minutes walk from the underground station and also situated so you can walk to many of the cities sights. What makes this hotel is the staff! From the moment we checked in we were greeted by professional and friendly staff throughout our stay.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
