My wife and I have just returned home after four nights at the Das Tyrol. Lovely welcome from Reception, warm, cosy, bright room. Very clean and well appointed. We make a point in staying at small boutique hotels in the centre of town having been to similar all over Europe. Das Tyrol was as good as it comes. A short...

The hotel was within walking distance to the historic centre. The studio room with balcony was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect for a weekend city break.

From the moment we walked in Das Tyrol, we were made to feel nothing but welcomed and comfortable! Melanie the receptionist was wonderful and made sure every part of our stay was enjoyable. She was so helpful in giving directions and recommendations and so friendly! The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the palace buildings (the museums) and...

An excellent place to stay - good location, great breakfast, super staff, and an excellent room. We were at the top - floor 5 in a room on the corner, probably bigger than some overlooking the street but thanks to double glazing , no noise. Would thoroughly recommend. .

Friendly staff with a warm welcome and plenty of recommendations and information. Lovely room, super comfy beds and exquisite bed linens. Compact bathroom but has everything you need. Spotlessly clean. Nespresso coffee maker :-) Perfect location, a few minutes walk from the train station and near all the museums. Plenty of cafes and restuarants nearby. We didni't take breakfast in...

We spent a lovely few days here last September. Very comfortable and close to the hub of the visitor's city - shopping, galleries and restaurants. It's in walking district of several of the more interesting inner city neighbourhoods.

The room are very small. We could hardly move in it. The amenities are luxury but one can feel claustrophobic in such small hotel (no common space, no space at the entrance....it is a building that was very small and was added renovation and sense of luxury for beds, doors and bathrooms or showers). It is not a business hotel...

My mother and I spent 5 nights at Das Tyrol in Vienna during October 2016, and we absolutely loved our visit! The staff are fantastic, offering wonderful levels of service with genuine warmth and hospitality. We loved the restaurant recommendation book and used it every day (no restaurant on-site, breakfast only, but a fabulous meal with everything you could ask...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
