Hargita is a short walk from westbahnhof and thus the airport bus. It is in a side road off a main shopping street and opposite an underground station. It is a short walk from the museum quarter and then into the very centre and landmarks. It is a quiet, clean and simple place with lovely staff and breakfast. Real homely....

Erika and her husband provided us such a good time while in Vienna! My husband and I met up with a friend and stayed in a triple occupancy room during our stay in Vienna. The rooms are tidy, ours had a shower in it (with superb water pressure) and everything was in good working order. Contact the pension directly for...

I made reservations via email with the owner after reading about the hotel in the guide book. The owner was super nice and accommodating. We reserved the room with my credit card, but paid in cash. He even helped arrange us a 30 EUR car pick-up from the airport when I emailed him last-minute. The hotel is in a great...

The family that runs Pension Hargita speaks great English and hosted us for three nights. We rented 3 double rooms and were in our own apartment on the third elevator- no stairs. Each room had it's own lock and the main apartment door had its own lock. This place is not fancy, but it is safe, clean, well maintained, great...

This is a great place to stay; very clean, the beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is friendly. It boasts rooms with toilet and shower, or rooms with a shower and shared toilet or a room with shared toilet and shower, take your pick. Personally, I couldn't care less about the shopping street it is practically situated on, but many...

I love this pension. The small rooms are simple and very, very clean. The bed sheets are out of cotton as they should be with a nice cotton covered comforter that gets changed along with the sheets. The floors are hardwood and washed or vacuumed every day. I had a room with private toilet and shower, my understanding is that...

My wife, eight-year old son and I recently stayed three nights at the Hargita. It is a very clean, well run, affordable place. It could not be better situated, on one of the top shopping streets in Vienna with a subway stop right out the door. Clearly, this is not a five star hotel, but if you are looking for...

I went here because they had someone in the internet searching for clients and I couldn't find rooms at that time for the hotels in Vienna because they had 2 important Conventions. This is a guest house located in a very old building with stairs going up in spiral, many stairs more than what other reviews said, and they have...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
