We stayed at the Aldstadt Vienna for a research and inspiration trip in the city. The hotel has a friendly and welcoming feeling, like you are staying in a Viennese apartment. We found the Aldstadt team extremely friendly and helpful with information about the city and booking events. The room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel is beautifully styled...

We did not want to leave this lovely hotel. Breakfast was amazing! Room was quiet and comfortable. If we ever go back to Vienna we will definitely stay here again. 5 stars all the way. Walking distance to the sights and many excellent restaurants nearby.

I would thoroughly recommend the Altstadt as a place to stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Salon is a lovely place to relax after a day's sightseeing, with scrummy cake and a fantastic range of teas, which then moves seamlessly into a quiet bar. We loved the location being just outside the main centre. It was quiet and...

We came for a pre-Xmas long weekend to Austria - myself, my three daughters and my niece. We found Hotel Alstadt by 'accident' Google search but it was a Gem of a Find. The people who work there are so very attentive and helpful. They went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and to help ensure our short...

We came for a xmas market weekend, the hotel is well situated and managed to walk to most with ease. Staff are friendly and welcoming and our suite certainly has character with good sized bedrooms, sitting room and bath and separate shower. Breakfast is a good selection a la buffet, with only a small hot section to be ordered such...

A beautiful building in a beautiful location, these are the main selling features. Breakfast and service good, but a greater variety of homemade food and extra attention to details such as cleaning rooms would be of benefit.

We stayed for 3 nights, first time in Vienna, I had already done a lot of research before arriving however staff were on hand with info and leaflets if required. Our room was a standard M and was big enough for our needs, bathroom very modern with powerful shower. We were at the front of the hotel, did not hear...

The hotel is in a stylish part of Vienna, many original shops and everything you plan to see is nearly a walk from here. Many trendy bars and restaurants near to the hotel. The staff are 24/7 at your disposal, extremly friendly and always a great help at anything. This is an Art Hotel, it´s a very beautiful building and...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
