At a walking distance from Prater, Der Wilhelmshof is a great place to stay. A very nice inner garden, friendly staff, nice and quiet rooms, art decorated individually. Parking place at the base of the building for extra charge - 19 euro / day. I fully recommend it.

I just spent 10 days in this hotel. It was in a superb location just a couple of minutes walk from the Praterstern station which has U-Bahns as well as a train that takes you to/from Vienna airport for less than €5. It is just 2 or 3 stops from Stefansplatz (the centre of things) on the U-Bahn depending if...

Nice hotel in Vienna. Not so expensive, good value for money. We liked the design, rooms, staff on the reception. The hotel has undergroud parking, rather expensive but it is normal for city center in Vienna. The hotel is few minutes walk from Prater. Definitely nice place to stay in Vienna.

We had an excellent 2 night stay at Der Wilemshof hotel in a 3-bed room. The hotel was well situated, close to the Praterstern station and Prater Park. It's outside the city centre, but only a couple of stops on the U-bahn, S-bahn, tram or bus. You can even hire city bikes and cycle there in 5-10 mins. Despite being...

Located within a shirt walk of the Prater wheel, it is also a short walk or ride into central Vienna. Rooms simple but quiet. Quilts thin but in summer not an issue. On a quiet road. Very efficient and friendly staff in a busy hotel. Popular with tourists. Breakfast good with wide choice well presented. Simple furnishing in room -...

As a whole, we enjoyed our stay at Der Wilhelmshof though we had expected a bit more of a 4 star hotel. It is not right in the city centre but it's within 8-10 minute walk from the Danube and crossing the bridge we could easily find ourselves next to nearly all city attractions. The room was quite spacious, divided...

We enjoyed our stay. I was there with my two kids. Breakfast here was nicer than our previous hotel (we're doing a lot of travel and our last hotel breakfast was at the World's Most Beautiful Cafe in Budapest the previous weekend. This breakfast had less choices, but they were better tasting). The room was about a half step above...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
