My sister arranged for us to stay here for my brother-in-law's birthday. My room was on the ground floor, was quite large, well fitted and comfortable. Kitchenette was well equipped including a Nespresso m/c. Everything in the bathroom worked well. Only downside was the bed, the matress was on the rigid side of hard and the pillow was filled with...

The location was not so nice, about 15 min. walk from the centre in a really quiet area. But this was ok. The appartment was really, really small for a family with two adults and two children in the age of 9 and 8 years old. The beds were horrable, they tried to help after the first horrable night with...

We stayed at the Hapimag Vienna for 3 nights as guests of my cousins who have a timeshare. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood close to the City Center. Our unit was a one bedroom which was very comfortable and quiet albeit a little generic. Staff was very helpful.

Thank TravlFam

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Vienna is more than schnitzel and Sacher Torte cake. The city residence is located near the Hofburg and the Spanish Riding School. Stroll through the Schönbrunn Palace gardens, relax on a horse-drawn carriage ride and enjoy a Vienna Mélange in the coffee house. Visit the opera, enjoy the view from the ferris wheel, admire St. Stephen's cathedral and climb up to the Pummerin bell. The place to go for art, culture and modern art. ... more   less
