You can hardly find better location as it is 2 minutes walk from Rathaus or Parliament. Rooms are big, clean, basic but we did not need anything else but bed, shower, fridge. Furniture is a bit old. Very little has to be done to completely change the layout. Just couple of new blankets and drapers will give a better touch....

Staff at this pension are very good, kind and available to help in every way possible. We had a good 2 nights stay at this pension, this is not a luxury hotel, but you have an affordable good place near the city center.

Good Pension in a very good location close to city center with in 10 min. walk and less than 5 min. to a metro station to be connected to everything , the area is very nice with lots of shops and really good restaurants, the hotel staff is absolutely helpful and gives you all the help required and provide full...

I spent some nights in the Pension. The position is very handy, in the hearth of Vienna, next to a shop and to the metro connection (just 5 mins walk). I stayed in a room with shared bathroom and shower. There is only one bathroom and one separated shower in the floor, to serve (I guess) about 5 or 6...

I loved staying here. So easy to walk to the parks and museums, it is also homely and close to two supermarkets where you can buy breakfast and lunch and then eat back at the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Very safe with safe in my room too, would recommend highly. Only issue was super slow internet but...

I'm a solo traveler and all I wanted is a small place to crash, but which is also located in the middle of the city. The Pension Lehrerhaus is exactly such a place. You can't beat the location. Almost all the principal tourist places can be reached by walk and there is also a metro stop just a few streets...

The staff was very nice and helpful. I had some personal problems and they helped me arrange details about my reservation. It's near the center and with a supermarket located around 50m away. Would definitely go here again!

Incredibly impressed by the price. 5-10 minute walk to the Town Hall Square which leads to the Hoffberg and next to a good sized supermarket. Friendly staff who were happy to help. Huge room that was very clean. Few security doors but this wasn't much of a hassle and meat that the hotel was secure. Shower and basin in the...

the hotel felt enormous yet very empty. we were on the 4th floor and had to go down a long corridor to get to our room - felt quite isolated and not the friendliest. the slats in the bed also broke which wasn't ideal and I had to put them back together which just wasn't what I wanted to be...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
