Getting here from the main train station shouldn't be that difficult. The U1 stops at Schwedenplatz which is right around the corner from the hotel. The hotel's website mentions this, but in my haste I trusted Google Maps which told us to use the S train which stops at a stop a 10-15 minute walk away (with a bunch of...

We tend to go for cheaper hotel options, leaving more money to travel! This has shared bathroom facilities which we don't mind at all, especially since it was only for a couple of nights. It was very clean and comfortable, the staff were very helpful, and the place is within easy walking distance of the historic centre of beautiful Vienna...

A clean, comfortable and warm apartment. We felt very good in it. Bed mattresses were comfortable. The apartment is located in the center of Vienna, close to many attractions. We'll definitely come back sometime.

We are budget travelers and do not book 4 and 5 star hotels. Pension Dr. Geissler is an older hotel within the Ringstrasse - clean with a good breakfast, free dependable wifi and very friendly, helpful staff. We chose a room with a private bath however the shower is very small but hot water was plentiful. Since it is in...

The atmosphere was good, the rooms were clean and the staff was very good. Breakfast was good too, mostly cold breakfast but tasty. Close to Stephanplatz and the Stephansdom. Also very close to a metro station which proved to be very convenient.

This is not a new, modern place. However, if you are looking for warm comfort and a great location then you might want to take a look at this place. I thought the prices were very reasonable for in December. One other reviewer mentions that there is an elevator but be forewarned that you still need to go up some...

The location was perfect you exit the Metro station U1/U4 and you just cross the street to get to the Pension, it is in the heart of the city. The bed is very comfortable, the cleanness is perfect each day they change the linen. The breakfast is generous. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. The respond promptly to your...

The location is excellent, right next to an U-Bahn stop. The Pension is not modern chic, but rather retro looking. If you think of it as a 70s themed hotel with a flat screen tv, then maybe you'll appreciate it a bit more. The room was small, but comfortable. The single bed was actually quite comfortable. It was warm (perfect...

The hotel has an elevator - a definite plus in the cities we've stayed at with multiple floored buildings and lots of stairs. The breakfast was very good. The person handling breakfast was wonderful. The hotel was very quiet. The room was very comfortable. We were very pleased with the hotel and would stay here again

I stayed here for 1 night during a trip around Europe. Chose to stay here as it was close to the city centre and old town (within walking distance) and (surprisingly) good value. It's also just around the corner from an underground station (Schwedenplatz) so the rest of the city and environs are readily accessible. My room was not the...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
