This hotel is not fit for dogs let alone a family with a young child! Where do I start? The lift is not big enough to get a pushchair in so you have to carry this up a spiral staircase, this is some cases could...More
We stayed in a superior apartment, there wasn't much difference in price between that and the standard room, and I thought the extra space was better. The apartment was really nice, great size, fairly modern furniture, comfy bed and a reasonable size kitchen.
On arrival the place looked lovely and clean and modern and I stupidly offered to pay upfront to save time on departure. We had booked to stay here so we could get to Vienna airport early in the morning. However AVOID ROOM 106 as it...More
We stayed in the basic (double) apartment at the Levante outside of the Town Centre, and location-wise it wasn't too bad. It's about a 20-25 minute walk from the Stephansplatz square. If you can figure out the trams there's probably a quicker way into town...More
We were very warmly welcomed by staff. Our apartment was spacious and very clean, with almost all the facilities we needed in the small kitchenette.
The only downside is that the apartment was very stuffy and hot. A small fan in the corner did little...More
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of
overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
