In the heart of the city, so walking distance of all major tourist attractions: very practical. a quiet pension (all windows look out onto a closed court, so very quiet) with a bit of old style grandeur but not in a posh way. Atmosphere, style and decoration go well with 'older' visitors, but if you look for something 21st century... More

Hotel located close the city center (walking just 5 minutes). Large rooms (109) with a interessant furniture (English style). Very good breakfast and staff really friendly. The look of the Courtyard needs to be upgraded. This hotel is not recommended for disable people, because the room acess is very narrow. The rooms are a little bit warm in June and... More

This pension--the management like to refer to it as a hotel, but it isn't--is located on the top 3 floors of an iinteresting old building in the inner city area of Vienna. It is less than a block from the Graben, a major shopping street, but it didn't seem terribly noisy. My room #111, was rather small, but well equipped... More

Sometimes pictures on the internet don´t really match the reality. This is such an example. The place was messy, no yard, no palace looking interior. Ok, the outside architechture was nice but quite a lot of it was not part of the hotel. The rooms were definitely nothing special and the air in them was bad. I don´t think there... More

The price was right, and the location was excellent. It was just a short walk to many sites and attractions in the inner city of Vienna. The hotel staff were friendly, and usually helpful. Buffet breakfast was large and varied, and in a comfortable room. The only real negative was the noise in the room; Hasburgergasse is a busy street,... More

The location of this hotel is absolutely ideal. However, do not expect warm customer service or friendly staff. We were greatly disappointed in the lack of customer service. The front desk personnel were not at all friendly when we asked for help booking a tour. However, we were grateful for the terrific location. The hotel is old and the floors... More

We chose the Pension Pertschy for its location, its character and its price. We had a fabulous 6 days there in late December/early January 2011 ; great, quiet location yet so close to everything. It was even quiet inside on New Year's Eve despite being so central. It has so much character being built in an old palace and around... More

I chose this hotel from the ratings that I read on Trip Advisor. The location was awesome and the price was great. The workers were very friendly, breakfast was included, you get your average European breakfast which is bread with meats, cheeses and fruits. My only complaint was it was kind of hidden and the bathroom shower was kind of... More

There was construction going on, with scaffolding and a crane out front, but we've found that most European cities are always in some phase of construction so it wasn't disconcerting to us. The hotel is reached from an interior courtyard, using either stairs or an elevator. The hotel's reception and its rooms are reached from a narrow wooden walkway running... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
