Close to Stephansplatz this family run hotel offers nice, rather small rooms and a good mid-european breakfast. Free Wi-Fi is included. Air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TV. No restaurant, but lots of restaurants to choose from close by.

We recently stayed 3 nights in Vienna at Hotel Wandl which we found was very centrally located & convenient, walking distance to Hofburg Palace where we were thrilled by the performances of the Vienna Boys Choir & the Spanish Riding School; the room was clean & comfortable though the bathroom was bit crammed;the staff were very friendly & helpful & tyhe...

Location is probably the only good thing about this hotel. It is supposed to be a 4* however it is most definitely not. The staff are quite rude and unhelpful. I've had to get my room key re validated everyday as for some reason it just stops working which is very annoying! The room is OK in size however has...

Having missed my flight, i had to stay in Vienna for 24 hours. Checked out hotels like Meridien, Marriott in the City Center but rates where $350+ but then found Hotel Wandl and a double room for half the price (including tax) with breakfast & free internet. Location is great! It took me 15 minutes from the express train station...

The only points scored by this hotel are due to its location, in the center of the old town. The accommodation however is terrible. You will see on tripadvisor mixed reviews because there are notable differences between rooms, but most problems are valid across the board. Sound insulation of the rooms is non-existent. Through the walls you hear everything your...

Location near Stephansplatz and the U-Bahn so very convenient for getting around. Stephansplatz was such a fun place at night to 'people watch' and enjoy gelato on warm evenings. Staff extremely helpful with directions. The Interior rooms were 'interesting' --- windows looked out onto the stairway, so we needed to keep curtains closed when we were in there. Lovely Klimt...

Room faced a brick wall and there was no wifi coverage at all. On enquiring I was advised that it is an old building, however the website states wifi all areas. No fridge or tea/coffee facilities. That said the room was clean and the hotel is central. I would not return purely as I consider wifi essential.

The location is really good (not 5 min to the Stephansplatz and the U-Bahn Station). The breakfast is ok, I expected more from the previous reviews. Yes, you got scrambled eggs, and you could have had sparkling wine, but the choice of cheese and ham was rather poor, the rolls and bread were rather simple, and the cereals were just...

I you were finding the city center location, you can try it. You will be exactly in the very center of Vienna. However I didn't nave a quiet night. I think the hotel should improve its noise insulation, especially in the bathrooms. Moderate. Would not visit for the next time. Sorry.

A very recommendable hotel in the heart of Vienna near Stephansplatz and underground. Nice and clean rooms as well as very polite staff. Good breakfast. It is a quiet place, shops and restaurants close by.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
