Our intention was to stay again at the Hotel Pension Franz, 100 m toward the corner but the voice from the phone guided us to this hotel. After an annoying entrance door, passing through an splendid hall I found a small reception, a very friendly receptionist (Romanian speaker) and a nice, clean, comfortable and silent room. A kettle and teabags...

I've stayed at the Schottenpoint for a week in July. Breakfast is modest (though fresh and tasty), rooms are not huge, but... great service is what made my stay memorable. Whatever questions or requests I had, I was always welcomed with a positive attitude and professionalism. Also, location is nice - 10 minutes walk to Town Hall square PS. Rated...

An unassuming front, leads into a once grand communial entrance, up a few stairs along a corridor, to the "hotel" sign. Inside is a small reception desk with many leaflets on things to do. The rooms were clean & large, I think 13 is a suite. We had room 12. No aircon and a bathroom window that opens into the...

I stayed in hotel early December. General impression - normal 3star hotel. Very clean, everyday changed towels and cleaned the room. Friendly staff. Small continental breakfast. I stayed for a week so got little bit bored with the same menu, but for a couple of days it's ok. I was very much disappointed with the price because of christmas. Of...

I'd stayed here for 3 nights on the recommendation from a friend. The room was very basic, but clean. The location was very convenient for a quick walk to the heart of the city, and safe for a solo female traveler returning after dark. Given the prices of the hotels in Vienna in general, this was an excellent value. The...

Excellent position 5 minutes from Vienna centre (1st disctrict), no problem with finding parking, quiet city area, very friendly personnel and very reasonable price. If you are not looking for any special features from the hotel but you want to enjoy Vienna then this is an excellent selection.

The building looks a bit rundown at first but, once inside, it's nice. Nothing fancy (except the entrance hall) but certainly adequate and clean. All rooms have a double bed, even the single rooms which is nice. The bed was comfortable and the bedding really fresh and 'fluffy'. Rooms are a decent size. A kettle and teabags are provided in...

Hotel is in walking distance from the Old Town, Rathaus and U-Bahn. Tram is right in front of the entrance. The reception has free internet and very friendly staff. There is only a breakfast room with basic food and drink choice, no resturant. Fair shower and bathroom, but without hairdryer in the room, you can get one from the reception....

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
