At the NH you get what you expect: a very modern, very clean room with nice bathroom. Its central location (right on Vienna's main shopping street, close to museums and next to a metro station) is great, yet I would only go back when not travelling by car (finding the parking in the one-way street system is a challenge!) What...

Stayed here as a last minute decision. If coming by car enter via the back street not Mariahilfe strasse you can then park you car under the portico unload your bags and then use the under ground car park for $19 euro per night. The rooms are quite large with a small kitchenette and then a separate bedroom and a...

Booked 4 nights in this hotel for a long weekend in Vienna. Upon arrival 30min before the 2pm check in time my room was not ready. I had to wait a further 90min to gain access. Hotel staff were very cold and unaccomodative. The "gym" is actually a 2 x 2 m small room with a broken bicycle & stairmaster....

So I needed a hotel for my last night in Vienna. I needed a good hotel because I had just come out from the hospital after an emergency surgery. I made my reservation online and expressly stated my condition, and upon my arrival I found out they gave me a room in a bulding separate from the reception, and on...

While outwardly, an impression of comfort, modernity and luxury is sought to be created, the truth is far from it. The hotel was infested with mosquitoes! On complaining at the reception, I was told it was to be expected due to the weather! This to me is appalling. Firstly, I had stayed in Vienna at two different hotels and did...

We stayed at this hotel in May 2013 with small baby and friends. This was our second time here and I was the one who insisted to come here. The reason was that the last time we has a room with separate living and bedroom and the staff was very friendly. Well it seems that things have changed for the...

I was looking for a good hotel in Vienna for an overnight stay for business for me and my colleague. Great pictures on website, good presentation but it is overall far from reality & expectations of 4-star hotel. Hotel is in the Vienna center but is difficult to find because is hidden in the middle of the blocks. The ambiente...

This hotel has small suites as rooms, with a seating area, kitchen area, bathroom,... The room was very clean, but a bit dark as it was located a the inside of the buildings. The internet is awfully slow and you have to get vouchers which only last for 24 hours, which is quite annoying. The staff at the reception was...

Been reading other reviews and we have not had any of their issues with staff, security or wifi This is an unusual hotel with huge rooms, separate seating area, microwaves, plates, fridge, cutlery and iron on request. Don't be put off by the unattractive facade as inside is very comfortable and great value in a big city. Surrounded by cheap,...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
