Very good for university visit. If you don't mind 20 minutes (minimum) of walking every time you you go out so it is great if the price is better than a central hotel. Seperior is nice size, great new bathroom but low water flow. Breakfast very good!!! Will come back if visiting the Uni. again.

Just slightly off centre, this hotel offers very quiet stays being just off a main road. Everything is of good standard. Rooms of decent size, mini bar, safe, and a very bright bathroom with all you need. The only drawbacks were the TV not having English channels and a bed a bit too soft. Staff was helpful, free internet and...

I don't understand why this hotel takes 4*? It's typical, old 3* hotel. Rooms dimensions, quality, condition and everything is on 3* level. Rooms wasn't shabby but all hotel excluding Reception is middling, forgettable, lackluster. Absolutely nothing special. Building and interior from '70. Fresh and hard mattress was only new part of the room equipment. Bedlinen was fresh, towels the...

Just had a few nights in one of the not-renovated rooms. Shabby best describes the room. The bed and mattress were ok. However, the carpeting, lighting and especially the bathroom were definitely not of 4* standard. Location is ok - about 10min brisk walk to the Schottentor and another brisk 10min to the Hofburg. Breakfast was fine with a good...

There is very little good to say about this hotel. I was given a smokers room although I had clearly stated that I want a non smoker room. When I complained the unfriendly staff said that they have no other room left. They hadn't even considered notifying me in advance. I didn't want to look for a new hotel since...

This hotel is substandard in almost every way. Our bed was terrible and it felt as if one was sleeping directly on the bedsprings with no padding whatsoever. Walls were stained and dinged. Decor was budget college dorm. Location very inconvenient as well. Management was particularly unfriendly and unhelpful. Breakfast was good.

We stayed at this hotel during a business trip where it came recommended as a 4 star hotel. Pros: The staff was friendly and very helpful. There were a lot of choices at breakfast. Location is good. Pretty close to the tram and not too far from downtown. Quiet neighbourhood. Free WiFi. Cons: The walls in the hallways were dirty....

The hotel is conveniently located: same street as Physics buildings, 5' walk to vegetarian restaurant "Vegirant" and 15' walk to another vegetarian restaurant "Yamm!". Staff are helpful. Room is basic but clean although the microscopic size of the shower is not comfortable. Vienna temperature was mid-30s (sweltering) and no air conditioning in room so I couldn't sleep properly even with...

During my 3 day stay there in June, 2013, I enjoyed very much their friendly service, rich variety of their breakfast buffee, my comfortable bed and free internet in my room. The location is superb – walking distance from the old town of Vienna, and very interesting Sigmund Freud Appartment Museum around the corner.

More like a 3 rather than a 4 star hotel, as it needs renovation. Ok overall, room is generally spacious and clean and breakfast is good. Main reason I chose it was because of the free fast internet in all rooms. Hotel is near the university in a quiet and safe area. There are not however many facilities in the...

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
